About your trip

Saudi Arabia blew us away with its beauty, but we won't lie, it's a little intimidating (and expensive) to do solo, so here's our latest custom bespoke small-group adventure in "the Kingdom"!

We'll be taking you to some incredible historical sites like Hegra and Al Balad, and intertwining the old with the new, as we stay at the most fabulous and famous accommodations!

To make this adventure even more of a unique traditional experience, we will be going during RAMADAN! Please make sure to note that lunches might be limited to the hotels (which are fabulous anyway) since all Muslim people must fast during the day, but you'll get to experience the festivities that come alive at night, and at least one iftar feast!

Please be sure to read all information below and in the itinerary carefully before booking! Thank you!

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMERS

This trip is completely bespoke and has not been done before as a group (only solo), so we'd just like to give a few disclaimers in case there are bumps in the road! We also have some cultural disclaimers!

1. Itinerary is subject to change around depending on timings of things like flights, festivities, and guests.

2. This trip includes a flight, which is always subject to change, please make sure you are prepared to use travel insurance in case of changes

3. This trip is during the holy month of Ramadan on purpose so that you can experience their cultural festivities, and also to avoid crowds! Please note we will have to avoid eating and drinking in public during the day, and lunch options might be limited (but we will have them)

4. This destination requires very modest attire, however hijabs and abayas are not mandatory, and swimsuits are allowed at hotels and boats. It should be chilly so covered clothing is preferable anyway

5. Unfortunately, this is a 100% DRY COUNTRY, so no alcohol will be available during the trip

CANCELLATION POLICY

Since this trip includes flights, the deposit will need to be non-refundable, because we need to book those ASAP.

Our cancellation policy is based on our local tour companies’ policies as well for timing until things like hotels and tours are not refundable, as well as our own fees for all of the admin and work we do to create these trips, and handle all of your bookings! We hope you understand!

This is also why we make travel insurance MANDATORY, and we highly recommend getting it around the same time you book your flights. That way if a covered issue happens like a flight cancellation or delay, or you (god forbid) get sick or injured, the insurance will likely cover your trip. However, if you cancel for PERSONAL reasons, including work-related issues, financial-issues, family-issues, or fear of travel, the insurance does not cover those reasons, and neither can we, however we try to be as flexible as possible!

UPDATE: As of 2024, we now require:

  • 50% of total trip price paid by 6 months before the trip
  • 100% of total trip price paid by 3 months before the trip

Below is an overview of our cancellation policy timeline for personal reasons:

  • Up to 8 months before:  Payments other than deposit refunded
  • Up to 6 months before: Any other payments besides deposit refunded if spot is filled
  • Up to 3 months before: Payments refunded if spot is filled only, otherwise non-refundable deposit + potential fees from tour company deducted from non-refundable/non-transferable items and admin fees
  • Less than 3 months before: non-refundable

For emergency health situations; we will evaluate them on a per basis situation depending on the time of cancellation and ability to have travel insurance cover it or not.

ROOMING

Price of the trip is per person based on shared occupancy. Right now it might not be possible to upgrade to a single room due to very limited availability.

Some resorts may also only have large queen or king beds, please let us know if this is a hard-no for you to share a bed with someone!

Welcome to Riyadh!

Today everyone will arrive in Riyadh, the bustling capital of Saudi Arabia! You'll immediately be engulfed in the luxury of the Middle East as soon as you step off the plane and into your included airport transfer!

You'll head to the hotel first to check in, and depending on your arrival times, we may have time to do a shopping trip to one of the many luxury malls, or do an additional activity like a trip to Boulevard World (like Epcot) at an additional cost (sorry, Saudi is super expensive!).

At 8pm we will have our Welcome Dinner at a fabulous restaurant recommended by a local!

Overnight at Holiday Inn or similar

Discover Ancient Diriyah

For our first official day in Saudi Arabia, we will leave the busy city for a long and action packed day! We want to cram in as much as possible since it's our only full day here!

Early in the morning we'll take a long drive to see the famous "Edge of the World" cliff with beautiful desert views! A must-do activity when visiting Riyadh! Then we will head back to our hotel where we should be able to order food for lunch.

After lunch and freshening up, we will head off to do a city tour in order to get an idea of the local culture and also how modern Saudi Arabia is! Then we will leave the city and discover the ancient city of Diriyah, which is just recently being restored!

In the early evening we will go to a cool terrace area where people will be coming out to break their fasts after sunset! We will make a dinner reservation at one of the most popular restaurants and enjoy the festive energy!

Arrive in AlUla for a Luxurious Adventure

Today we will head to the airport bright and early to take a two-hour flight to AlUla! From AlUla airport, it's about an hour drive, so we will go straight to Habitas to check in so we can enjoy our desert resort for a little bit!

We will hopefully arrive at Habitas by 1:30pm-2pm, and after checking in, you can either head to the restaurant for optional lunch, or "the food trucks"! If you're skipping lunch, or after lunch, feel free to enjoy your beautiful accommodation, lounge by the pool, or head out on an eBike (or the golf carts) to see some of the fun art installments!

After lunch you can explore the property, including the trampoline park, the swings, and the pool, and then around 4pm, we'll head off into town!

First we will stop nearby at Maraya, the Insta-famous mirrored structure in the desert! Enjoy playing around with the many reflections and angles as you try to capture the perfect selfie-art!

Then we'll go to Elephant Rock for photos, and then up to a popular viewpoint with a cafe!

We'll try to make it back to Habitas by 6pm-ish so we can do a beautiful Canyon Soundbath!

For dinner we will decide as a group if we all want to do the resort's iftar (huge buffet but costs around $100), or if you'd like to wait until 9pm for a-la-carte, or we can go to the Habitas Campers area where they have some food trucks, and also a "canyon cinema"!

Hegra and Photo Paradise!

Today is going to be the photo day of (some of) your dreams! Get your outfit changes ready because we have a lot to snap, and yes, we will be getting taking photos of all of you!

For those wanting to participate, we will get up around 7am to get ready, and immediately go claim some chairs by the pool. While the lighting is still low, we'll take our eBikes or a golf cart shuttle to the trampolines first, so we can catch the sun in between the canyons!

Then we'll stop by the swings and have a bit of fun taking photos there! Both installments are A LOT of fun! But please be careful...Alyssa definitely tumbled off of one of the trampolines!

Finally, when the sun is reaching the higher levels, we'll quickly and discreetly take our photos by the pool, so we don't disturb anyone. Please keep in mind that most people will be eating breakfast inside, and watching us. Also keep in mind, they are all likely going to come take photos after eating, so we need to be mindful of them too (AKA no yelling at people to get out of your shot!!).

Once the people start coming out of the restaurant, we can then go inside for our fabulous, delicious breakfast! (*Note if you're an early riser, feel free to eat before 7am!)

We will then hopefully have a couple of hours to actually enjoy the fabulous pool, and for a bit more free time before check out.

Once we check out around 12pm, we will be transferred next door to Banyan tree, where we will quickly go to their pool for some stunning photos between the two canyons!

Then we will quickly shower and change, and head to our private Jeep tour of Hegra at 3:30pm.

Hegra is absolutely incredible, and we guarantee it will be a highlight of this adventure! There are several tombs that we will visit, and even a couple that we can go inside!

After Hegra, we will go to the Old Town for a tour and some souvenir shopping, and we can also have dinner there for those who want to try some (more reasonably priced) local food! Otherwise there is fancy restaurant with local cuisine at Banyan Tree, and also a popular Thai restaurant!

Overnight at: Banyan Tree or similar

Fly to Jeddah!

We are now flying to Jeddah, which will give us a lot more time to explore! We will now arrive at 1:20pm instead of 7pm, yay!

We'll head straight to our hotel to check in and freshen up, where you can also order room service for lunch.

Then, since we're staying on the cornice, we can take a stroll along the water, or you can opt to hang by the pool for a bit!

Then we will go to the beautiful Al Balad (the Old Town) to see the Ramadan celebrations going on, and grab our dinner there! Al Balad also has a lot of really nice shops!

Overnight at Al Cornice (Intercontinental) or Similar

Breakfast Included

The Relaxing Red Sea!

For our last full day together, we may or may not do some relaxing; it depends on the weather!

Ideally we will go out on a boat to snorkel in the Red Sea, and chill at a sandbar that's said to be like the "Maldives of Saudi Arabia"! But! If it's too windy, we will avoid everyone getting seasick, and we will head to experience what is considered a "Beach Club" in Saudi Arabia! Some are even women-only! If the weather is not cooperating, we will take a city tour.

As a group we can decide if we'd like to head back into the cute and walkable Al Balad area for some local cuisine and Ramadan vibes, or if we'd like to splurge on one of the many fabulous and fancy restaurants near the Corniche!

Departures or Add Ons!

It's time to say goodbye to Saudi Arabia, and we will transfer you to the Jeddah airport depending on flight times! We're sure you'll have plenty of memories to reminisce about on the long flights, and definitely a lot of photos to edit!

For those with long layovers in places like Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai -- we will help you all coordinate if others will be there to you can explore or share rooms!

And for anyone doing our add-ons, we will leave together on the same flights!
