Arrival, Retreat Orientation & Sunset

Arrival, Retreat Orientation & Sunset

Welcome!

Our adventure will begin in Phoenix. We'll have a group airport pickup around noon before departing for lunch in Old Town Scottsdale.

You will have approximately one hour to explore Scottsdale's famous 5th Street shopping. Since the retreat officially begins at the welcome orientation, lunch will be on your own this day. After lunch, we will make the approximately two-hour scenic drive to the retreat home in Sedona. Plan to arrive there around 4:00 pm.

We'll get settled upon arrival and begin our retreat with a welcome orientation, where we will review the daily retreat schedule and set expectations for the weekend. We'll finish the evening with a relaxing evening yoga session, group dinner, and a short drive to the Airport Mesa viewpoint.

Noon: Airport/Hotel Pickups - Scheduled pickup from the 44th PHX SkyTrain Station. We will greet you in the parking lot as you exit the 44th Street Station. If you're arriving early and staying at a hotel, we can also pick you up from there.

12:30 pm: Lunch/Grocery Stop—We will stop to grab lunch and last-minute items for the trip before heading to Sedona.

5:00 pm: Welcome Orientation

5:30 pm: Evening Yoga

6:30 pm: Group Dinner. After dinner, we will make a short drive to the Airport Mesa viewpoint to view a stunning desert sunset.

Day 2

Devils Bridge, Chapel of the Holy Cross & West Fork Trail

Devils Bridge, Chapel of the Holy Cross & West Fork Trail

We'll start with yoga first thing in the morning before it gets too hot, followed by a rich breakfast buffet and a full day of hiking in beautiful Sedona.

After breakfast, we'll pack our lunches, depart the retreat home at 10:00 am sharp, and head to Devils Bridge Trail Head. We'll drop you off at the trailhead.

The hike to Devil's Bridge is 6 miles total round trip (3 miles out and 3 miles back) and usually takes about 60 minutes in each direction, not accounting for the time spent at the bridge. The hike is well-marked and straightforward (and open with wide trails) until the last quarter mile, when it gets steep and more challenging. Since the Devil's Bridge is such a Sedona icon, it is known to get very crowded and incur hour-long wait times once you arrive at the photo spot.

Fun fact: Although Devil's Bridge is over 50 feet high with drop-offs on each side, it is 5 feet wide at its narrowest. So, if you can walk down a hallway (4 feet wide) without bumping into the walls, chances are good Devils Bridge won't be a problem for you. Looking at it while waiting in line is more unnerving than walking on it.

After enjoying the view, you can resume your hike back down. From there, we'll pick you up and head to the  Chapel of the Holy Cross to see this neat church built into the side of the red rocks. We will plan on spending about 30 minutes here.

Next, we'll head to the West Fork Trail in Sedona. This is an easy to moderate hike that offers jaw-dropping views throughout. Picnic tables, toilets, and trash cans are available for use. This is about a 7-mile hike; it has a steady incline you don't really notice, and the hike goes by rather quickly. This is by far the most uniquely beautiful hike Sedona has to offer. Every part of this hike is stunning, from the red rocks that reach up to the sky to the greenery decorating the creekside.

After finishing the last hike, we'll return to the retreat home for showers and evening yoga. We'll finish the day with a delicious home-cooked meal as a group.

7:30 am: Morning Yoga

8:30 am: Breakfast Buffet & Pack Lunches for Hiking

10:00 am: Hiking time in Sedona

6:30 pm: Evening Yoga

7:30 pm: Group Dinner

Wellness Morning & Cathedral Rock

We'll start the day with a morning yoga session before a delicious home-cooked breakfast and packing our lunches for the day.

There are several popular early-morning excursions for those interested. You can hike Soldiers Pass Trail, book a hot-air balloon ride, enjoy a Pink Jeep Tour, or take an exhilarating helicopter ride. Also, today is the best day to visit the crystal shops in Sedona.

If you are interested in booking any of these optional activities, reservations in advance are strongly encouraged. We can provide pick-up and drop-off for any of these optional activities. Please note these activities are NOT included in the price of the retreat.

Soldiers Pass Trail

Hot Air Balloon

Helicopter

Pink Jeep Tour

In the afternoon, we will head to Cathedral Rock as a group. Cathedral Rock is a 2.4-mile (1.2 miles out and 1.2 miles back) trail that will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour in each direction.

This hike is challenging, but it is worth it and is often described as one of the most fun experiences in Sedona. It has significant elevation changes, and you won't be able to complete it without putting your hands on the ground and scrambling a little. Fortunately, there are great flat area stopping points periodically with panoramic views. Take as many breaks as you need on the way to the top.

After this hike, we will drive to the Red Rock Crossing for a photo opportunity before returning to the retreat home.

7:30 am: Morning Yoga or Optional Excursion (see above)

8:30 am: Breakfast Buffet & Pack Lunches for Hiking

4:00 pm: Group Departure for Cathedral Rock

6:30 pm: Evening Paint Night & Meditation - Join us for an enchanting evening that blends creativity with tranquility. Our Paint Night and Meditation session offers a unique opportunity to unwind, explore your artistic side, and connect deeply with your inner self. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, our Paint Night and Meditation is designed to be a fun, relaxing, and enriching experience. You'll leave with a sense of accomplishment, a beautiful piece of art, and a heart full of peace.

7:30 pm: Group Dinner

Day 4

The Birthing Cave, Meditation Walk, & Little Horse Trail

Today, we'll have another beautiful day of hiking and exploration. After morning yoga and breakfast, we'll depart the retreat house for a hike to The Birthing Cave and a guided Meditation Walk. In the afternoon, we'll explore the Little Horse Trail before returning to the retreat home.

The Birthing Cave is a short and leisurely 2-mile hike roundtrip (out and back) near the Mescal Trail, where you start the Devil's Bridge hike. The last segment of the hike will be the most challenging, but your destination will be apparent in sight. Once you are near the cave, you can see the opening and understand the name. From inside, you can see beautiful views of the Sedona landscape. Climb up the sides for excellent photo opportunities. There is even a "belly button" you can climb. Getting in is a little challenging, but it offers the best view and seat in the house.

7:30 am: Morning Yoga

8:30 am: Breakfast Buffet & Pack Lunches for Hiking

10:00 am:  Depart for the Birthing Cave Hike & Amitabha Stupa

3:00 pm: Little Horse Trail

6:30 pm: Evening Yoga

7:30 pm: Group Farewell Dinner*—As our transformative retreat in Sedona comes to a close, we invite you to an optional farewell dinner at the exquisite Shorebird Restaurant (or similar). This special evening is the perfect way to celebrate the new friendships and cherished memories we've created together.

Join us for a night of delicious food, great conversation, and heartfelt farewells. It's the perfect way to end our retreat on a high note and carry the spirit of Sedona with us as we return to our daily lives.

*Important Note: Please be aware that the cost of this meal is not included in the retreat's all-inclusive price. Guests are responsible for their expenses at Shorebird Restaurant.
