I had the most incredible experience hiking with Marvin on Acatenango! He is a great guide, genuinely cares about the group, would not leave anyone alone behind and also considered the best timing for us to hike to fuego to see the volcano eruption. 

The tour was incredible. The guides were really good - Marv was great. Food was decent and the cabins were nice.

We had an amazing time with our tour guide and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who goes to tikal. Our tour guide spoke English and spanish.

We had so much fun hiking with CA Travelers! It was a larger group but we really got the chance to get to know the guides and learned a lot about the culture in the process! Food was plentiful and pretty yummy.

This is one of, if not my favorite tour I have ever been on! We had the best day ever and the tour truly included so much more than expected. My friend and I signed up pretty last minute and they were able to accommodate us. The tour lasted roughly 4 hours ad we went to a coffee far, tasted coffee, a chocolate making shop, tasted chocolate tea, a local market and tried lunch snacks and a TON of traditional sweets, then went to another local shop where we tried 3 more Guatemalan drinks! The entire tour was very entertaining, delicious, and we learned so much about the history and current state of Guatemala as well. Our tour guide was amazing and has the biggest heart and so much love for her people! She has supported/ started 2 schools in the area and you can really tell how much she cares to give back to her community. Going with a company like CA travelers helps you make an impact as well! I would do this tour 100 times over! 

Coffee & Gastronomic Bike Tour

Unreal experience from start to finish. This tour was incredible. The information before was perfect, you can borrow equipment if you need to, the food was unreal and plentiful and the huts are warm, comfortable and have the best views over the volcano. This company were unreal and our guide, Marvin, was the best - he clearly knows what he is doing. 

Organization was good, food was great and the beds were comfy.
Suggestions for improvement:
- decrease the group, 30 pax is way too much
- check the fitness level of participants, it was too much for some of them and they were significantly slowing the whole group
- added value of the guides was zero. They were just accompanying the group, but didn’t tell anything about the volcano, culture, history, local life, nature, etc.

I really apreciated the professionalism of the principal guide, Carlos and the rest of the team Vida, Audi, Jefferson, Fili - just to name a few. The champ is located in a very strategic manner with a super view to the aqua volcano and fuego ! Also kudos to CA travelers for hiring females porter - I appreciated the job opportunity given to women as well as the local composition of the team 😊

Start to finish, this was an incredible experience with CA Travelers, and we’re so grateful to the entire team. Leo was great in walking us through everything ahead of time, which made the whole process feel seamless and well-organized.

Our guides, Silvan and two others whose names I unfortunately don’t remember, were all fantastic. They were encouraging, attentive, and created a really supportive environment for everyone, whether you were a fast, medium, or slower hiker. They made sure we felt safe, in control, and well taken care of throughout the hike.

The porters, Jeffrey and Paola, were also amazing, really friendly and encouraging every step of the way, and made a big difference in the overall experience.

The logistics were excellent. They were very punctual, provided altitude sickness medication when needed, and allowed us to take plenty of breaks along the way. All the meals were great, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even the hot chocolate at camp were highlights.

Visibility of Fuego wasn’t great when we first arrived at base camp, but the team gave us the space to make a group decision on whether to summit. We decided to go for it, and they were incredibly supportive and motivating the entire way.

They were also very accommodating in a situation where we didn’t have cash on hand before the hike, and allowed us to pay later at the agency office. We really appreciated the flexibility, especially knowing this isn’t typically how things are handled.

Overall, an amazing experience. Would absolutely recommend CA Travelers to anyone considering the hike.

Mochila en Renta

The trip itself was totally fine. The booking at the office took a lot of time and was wrong in the first place. The agent booked our trip the wrong way around. We corrected it while checking. 
Also we weren’t on the drivers passenger list. Another girl we met, which also booked with CA Travelers was told she’d be picked up at her hostel, which was not true.

Great experience, we were well looked after 

Our Acatenango hike was one of the most incredible experiences of mine and my husband's lives. We had the best group of people with the most amazing guides and porters. They took care of us like we were family. The hike was extremely challenging, but having a delicious dinner and glass of wine while watching the volcano erupt from basecamp was truly unforgettable. The basecamp was clean and comfortable, and the beds were warm with great views of the volcano. We are so grateful for CA Travelers and the amazing experience we will remember for the rest of our lives! 

We had a good time climbing Pacaya volcano. The guide was nice and paying attention to the slower ones in the group.
Something to improve: pick up at our hostel rather than having us cross town early morning.

Fue una experiencia increíble, CA te ofrece todo lo necesario para el tour, me encantó que tienen varias opciones de menú y más que tuvieran opción vegana, la comida estaba muy rica. Todo el equipo y los guías son super atentos, las cabañas y el comedor están increíbles y los colchones muy cómodos. Ya quiero regresar a hacer el tour con ellos 

Las que te Ramos ya se veían bastante vividas, algunos cierres ya no funcionaban. Pero cumplieron su función 

We had a great time with CA travellers. The only negative points would be that the 4-person rooms were a bit small. Other than that, they took very good care of us and Pablo was a great guide. Highly recommend

I had an amazing time with CA TRAVELERS!! they went above and beyond. Alex, specifically helped me push through til i reach the basecamp, he is the best and truly so positive! Im so glad i booked them. They provided bfast lunch dinner and some more. The basecamp view is amazing as well! Our lead guide (Carlos?) is an awesome leader!! He communicated everything so well and encouraged everyone throughout the hike. I love them!! So grateful! Gracias!!

Great time with great people! We were a small group which I liked :) Easy to connect. The guide was friendly and we arrived at the place where you heat the marshmallows before everyone else so that was nice :D Would recommend doing it!

Our family of two adults and two children had a great experience with CA Travelers. One area I think could use improvement is the time at the supply centre getting equipment. It took such a long time and seemed quite inefficient. Other than that, great experience. Leo was a very encouraging guide and looked after us well. The food was good and the kitchen area at camp was a great once to hang out and watch Fuego out of the wind. The 4-person cabins were extremely cramped and the bunkbeds could use replacing as legs are cracked. It would be better to turn them all into 2-3 person cabins. We would definitely recommend CA Travelers though.

La agencia cumplió con lo contratado. Los 2 desayunos y el almuerzo estuvieron bien, la comida (cena) para la noche en la montaña estuvo muy maluca, recomiendo cambiar por otra cosa que no sea pasta, ya que la supuesta carne era solo agua carne, observé que casi nadie la consumió. 
Los guías muy amables.

Podrían subir un poco el costo y entregar la comida arriba en el campamento, como lo hacen otras agencias, al final al tener que pagar por los porteadores, el costo total termina casi igualando a las otras agencias.

We had the best time on this trip. It was so well organised by CA travelers, from the pre trip information to the guides and the food supplied. The accommodation was basic as expected almost at the top of a volcano. The guides ensured we walked at a reasonable pace and ensured no one was left behind.
We also liked the fact that the company gives back to the community by building a school at the foot of the volcano.
I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone who wants a memorable experience.

This is a quick and inexpensive way to get to the airport, and they have good communication.

We enjoyed the lake tour. The guides were great, and everything was organized perfectly: breakfast was included, and lunch was an additional fee. The only issue was the return transfer; we waited an hour and a half for it. This ruined the tour experience.

Lake Atitlán Tour from Antigua

We had an awesome time! The group was amazing, very lovely and our guide Alejandro was the best - always organised and helpful! 
Also the food and equipment was really good (compared to other operators). I’m on a vegan diet and even that was no problem. 
About the experience itself: it’s amazing! Do it! It’s a once in a lifetime thing. And it still feels unreal what we’ve witnessed.

Increíble experiencia subiendo Acatenango con esta empresa. Los guías fueron muy profesionales, atentos en todo momento y generaron muy buen ambiente durante toda la subida. El alojamiento en el campamento tenía unas vistas absolutamente brutales, especialmente al volcán de Fuego en erupción, algo difícil de olvidar. La comida estuvo bien, cumplió su función después del esfuerzo. En general, una experiencia muy bien organizada y sin ninguna queja. ¡Totalmente recomendable!

We had a great time hiking Acatenango with CA Travelers! A month before the hike, I contacted CA Travelers, and they answered all of my questions quickly and thoroughly. During the trip, they provided luggage storage, equipment, helpful instructions, experienced guides, delicious food, and a cabin to sleep in. The pace of the trip was great. It was indeed tiring, but very rewarding. We recommend CA Travelers to anyone who wants to hike Acatenango!

The driver forgot someone in Antigua and then turned back to get them.  This added half an hour to the drive going there , but it didn’t impact the length of the hike up Pacaya.  Otherwise good.  The guide spoke no English … my little bit of Spanish helped! Otherwise he was great, and caring of the weaker hikers.

Great time but everything too fast… need to add at least one hour on the top for people to be and enjoy the view. Not only to take pictures and that’s it… :) 

Timely pick up, comfortable van. The guide we got at the park was amazing; without his help, we would have missed the window to see Pacaya because right as we were leaving, clouds came in. I thought the value was amazing.  

This was a really challenging hike especially for me, but they made my experience so easy and enjoyable. All of the staff were so kind and helpful. They were really easy to get along with despite the language barrier. The whole process was seamless, I would really recommend CA Travelers! 

Staff were very friendly. But I never received a confirmation that was promised. When I arrived at the assembly point, and the driver had checked me in, I got a message from CA reminding me of the trip. I told them I was already on the shuttle waiting for departure. They asked me to send a photo of the van, which I did.  They messaged back saying I was on the wrong vehicle.  Since I was already checked in with my luggage loaded on the roof. I gave up and figured they would figure it out.

En persona todo fue excelente, nos ayudaron con el transporte un montón, para agarrar los shuttles, todos muy amables y serviciales, lo único como a mejorar sera la comunicación por mensajes, que aveces no contestan o duran bastante en hacerlo, pero si se llama todo super bien. 
Los guias al tour del acatenango y fuego, super bien, atentos y cordiales. El campamento igual, una experiencia muy bonita todo. Me los recomendaron para hacer el tour y yo lo recomendaría igualmente!

I highly recommend this company! I’ve booked several tours with CA travelers. They are supporting a local school thanks to all the tours they offer which makes it even better to book with them.
First I did the coffee bike tour with Pablo. He was very knowledgable and gave us interesting explanation about the coffee making, typical clothing, etc… we’ve tasted some fresh coffee and different types of jam, candies, beverages and a crunchy taco. It was a really nice experience to explore a bit of Guatemalan culture.
I’ve also booked the Acatenango trek which was absolutely an incredible experience! The provided equipment and meals were great. The view from base camp on volcán Fuego was amazing. Thank you to the guides that made this trip unforgettable: Carlos, Lorena, David and Tigre. Your enthousiasm made us go up the volcano a little bit easier!
Lastly, I’ve booked a shuttle. It picked me up at the office and dropped me off at the hotel which was perfect.
And thanks to the guys at the office that were super nice and helpful every day I came into the office: Leo and Diego!

The tour Volcan Acatenango (2026) was more than satisfactory in every way.  Our guide Morvin kept us well informed for every part of the hike.  He was full of information and lots of fun.  The tour unfolded exactly as he advised.  I appreciated the equipment provided, and the meals were great, especially with wine for dinner, parmesan cheese for our pasta and marshmallows for roasting around the warming fire.  The hike, for me - the very oldest in the group, by many years (!), was challenging but there were always guides nearby, and porters, if desired.  CA is very well organized, and the tour was worth the price - absolutely.  It was a thrill to see Fuego erupt, multiple times.  Thank you CA for a terrific experience.  I would recommend this tour to anyone who is contemplating going up.  

CA Travelers was great. All of the food was great, the gear was in great shape, and the tour guides definitely made us feel comfortable on the mountain. I would definitely recommend.

Love this company. Did two tours with them but Acatenango was outstanding. Hard hike but the guides are great and the tour is super organized. Good food provided too. Highly recommend!

We were picked up on time from our hotel and had a comfortable and scenic drive to the  gate of the park, to start the hike. We were assigned a very knowledgeable guide, and offered horses, it is worth the money. Over all , it was very good trip…….
