About this trip

Join Andrea Russell and Sheryl Lilke on a meditation retreat close to home in the tranquil woods of northern Wisconsin. The retreat will be held at The Christine Center in Willard, Wisconsin (three hours northwest from Madison) on 125 acres of land, offering a nurturing and supportive environment for deepening practice and connection.

During the retreat, we’ll focus on slowing down and deepening your meditation practice. Days will include gentle yoga to prepare your body for sitting, several periods of seated and walking meditation, dharma talks, and opportunities to ask questions and receive support. Much of our time together will be spent observing noble silence, enabling us to turn our attention inward and create community based on shared devotion to practice.

Each afternoon there will be free time to walk in the woods, sit on benches overlooking the pond, drink tea, read, knit, or whatever else feels relaxing and restorative.

It’s a wonderful and welcoming environment for those who are new to retreats and/or yoga and meditation.

This retreat will allow you to unplug from stresses and responsibilities, from electronics and newsfeeds, and remember what is really important to you. You will get the time you need for introspection so that you can reset and come home to yourself. You’ll go deeper into your meditation practice and develop insights into how you can find ease in your mind, in your body, and in your daily life. You’ll also be part of a supportive and inclusive community of fellow spiritual seekers.

Andrea is an Ayurvedic health counselor, yoga & meditation teacher, and neurovascular therapist dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their health and vitality. She leads retreats locally and abroad.

Sheryl is a psychotherapist and yoga teacher who has received lay ordination in the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition. In her work she weaves Western psychology, Buddhist philosophy, and holistic mindfulness and movement practices together to help individuals access their own inner wisdom and innate healing potential.

I’m an Ayurvedic health counselor, yoga and meditation teacher, and neurovascular therapist living in Madison, Wisconsin. I have been in private practice and teaching since 2000. My classes and retreats integrate Ayurvedic wisdom, meditation and a mindful approach to asana that brings attention to anatomy, optimal alignment, strength, breath, and inner awareness. This practice cultivates abounding health in body and mind while inspiring you to live a more grounded and compassionate life. I offer a variety of trainings, workshops, and retreats, both locally and abroad. I have a deep love for travel, local food, and spending time with my pitbull Lucy. I look forward to working together. Gratefully, Andrea P.S. Head over to to get my full story!

It was a breakthrough weekend for me. Andrea is knowledgable and compassionate. I recommend her retreats to anyone looking for a welcoming approach in a calm environment. Im looking forward to sitting with Andrea again soon. Thanks Andrea! Namaste.
I had a wonderful time the people were great and the food was delicious. The place itself was lovely as well as the surrounding community. Andrea is a wonderful inspirational teacher/guide. I am able to incorporate some of the things I learned there into my classrooms.
I really couldn’t have asked for a better week. The setting was beautiful, the rooms we comfortable, the food was excellent and Andrea’s program was thoughtful, fulfilling and inspiring. This was my second retreat with Andrea and I can’t wait for the next one, highly recommend!
My time in Bali was truly an experience that I will always treasure. The accommodations at the Shala Bali were very comfortable. Mind the daily removal of frogs and the water on the bathroom floor after a rain, these could be put aside as the meals, the pool, and the staff were superior. I liked too that the Shala was set away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud, nestled in the rice paddies. When describing the yoga teachings and meditation; professional and knowledgeable about the practice of yoga and its sister Ayurveda. In addition, daily meditation brought a sense of calm to my personal well-being.
I had a wonderful experience. Andrea is very knowledgeable and she cares about her clients. I loved the fact we were able to expand our knowelege on self care and a new culture..
