Touch down in Ljubljana, one of Europe’s most charming and underrated capital cities. After settling into our stylish boutique hotel in the heart of Old Town, City Hotel Ljubljana, you’ll have time to relax, explore the cobblestone streets, or enjoy a coffee by the river.
We’ll kick things off with a welcome dinner at a cozy local restaurant—gathering around the table to toast new friendships, Slovenian flavors, and the unforgettable adventure that lies ahead.
*Please plan to arrive at Ljubljana Airport (LJU) no later than 4PM local time on July 7th.
Today we venture into the picture-perfect beauty of Lake Bled—Slovenia’s most iconic and enchanting destination. After a scenic drive through the countryside from Ljubljana, we’ll hop aboard a traditional wooden boat to reach Bled Island, where you’ll have the chance to explore the medieval Bled Castle perched high above the lake, then enjoy a delicious lakeside lunch with a view.
In the afternoon, we’ll go for a walk through the stunning Vintgar Gorge, following wooden walkways along emerald waters and cascading waterfalls.
After checking into the charming Old Parish Hotel, we will enjoy dinner overlooking Lake Bled at sunset—the perfect way to end the day.
We’ll start the day early with a short but rewarding hike to the stunning viewpoint of Mala Osojnica, where we’ll watch the sunrise cast golden light overlooking Lake Bled. It’s one of the most iconic views in all of Slovenia—and the perfect way to begin the day.
After breakfast, we’ll head toward Lake Bohinj—a quieter, equally breathtaking glacial lake tucked inside Triglav National Park. Often called Slovenia’s hidden gem, it offers peace, solitude, and wild alpine beauty. We’ll first hike to Savica Waterfall, following a steep yet scenic trail to a powerful cascade nestled deep in the forest.
Then in the afternoon, it’s time to play—stand-up paddleboarding across Bohinj’s crystal-clear waters, surrounded by towering peaks.
We’ll venture deep into the heart of the Julian Alps on a moderately challenging and awe-inspiring trek from Pokljuka Plateau to Dom Planika Hut. This alpine route spans approximately 8 miles (13–14 km) one-way, with an elevation gain of around 4,600 ft (1,400 m).
Don't worry though—we will take our time on the trail with plenty of rest stops (and of course, lots of photo opps!).
Along the way, we’ll pass through quiet forest trails, open mountain pastures, and rugged ridgelines—each step bringing us closer to the base of Slovenia’s tallest and most iconic peak.
We’ll spend the night at Dom Planika, a cozy, rustic mountain hut nestled just beneath the summit of Mt. Triglav. This alpine refuge is a beloved stop for climbers and trekkers alike, offering simple dorm-style accommodations and home cooked meals.
The day begins before sunrise with an OPTIONAL summit push to Mt. Triglav’s peak (9,396 ft / 2,864 m)—the highest point in Slovenia. This short, yet steep GUIDED climb covers about 1.5 miles (2.5 km) with 1,300 ft (400 m) of elevation gain, including a via ferrata section (metal cables and footholds with a harness + helmet provided).
No technical climbing experience is needed for this via ferrata—just a good head for heights and a willingness to go for it. *Please note this climb is OPTIONAL and will be with professional and certified mountain guides to ensure your safety.
Reaching the summit at sunrise is a moment you’ll never forget—standing above the clouds, surrounded by the silent majesty of the Julian Alps.
After returning to Dom Planika hut for breakfast, we’ll begin our descent back down the mountain—approximately 8–9 miles (13–14 km) with 4,600 ft (1,400 m) of elevation loss.
Once we reach the trailhead, we’ll transfer to the Soča Valley—where turquoise rivers and quiet pine forests await. Our home for the next 3 nights is Pristava Lepena, a tranquil mountain retreat nestled just outside of Bovec. You’ll have time to unwind, stretch, and soak in the alpine energy before we gather for dinner under the stars.
After a slow morning start, we’ll then shift gears with a whitewater rafting adventure on the emerald-green Soča River—often named one of the most beautiful rivers in all of Europe. Flowing through narrow canyons and wide alpine meadows, this half-day journey offers the perfect balance of both adrenaline and awe, surrounded by jaw-dropping natural beauty.
The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax and recharge—whether that’s soaking in the pool, sauna, or hot tub at our mountain cabins, curling up with a book or indulging in a massage (not included in the trip fee).
Today we’ll venture deeper into Slovenia’s alpine beauty—starting with a scenic drive up the dramatic Vršič Pass, the highest mountain pass in the country.
We’ll lace up our boots for a hike to Slemenova Špica (approx 4 miles with 1.5K elevation gain) one of Slovenia’s most beloved trails for good reason. This trail leads to a wide grassy ridge with jaw-dropping views of Mount Jalovec and dramatic limestone peaks.
Later in the day, we’ll make our way to Kozjak Waterfall—an easy and peaceful trail (approx 1.5 miles with 300 ft elevation gain) that leads to a tucked-away emerald pool and cascading waterfall, hidden inside a moss-covered cave. It’s one of Slovenia’s most photogenic and serene spots.
Then we’ll return to our mountain cabins at Pristava Lepena where we will also enjoy dinner together overlooking the mountain landscape.
This morning, thrill-seekers have the option to embark on one of Slovenia’s most epic adventures: canyoning through the jaw-dropping Fratarica Canyon. This half-day guided excursion involves rappelling down waterfalls, sliding through natural chutes, swimming in turquoise pools, and jumping into crystal-clear basins.
*Please note this is an optional add-on activity and perfect for those craving a true adrenaline fix in nature.
Afterward, we’ll trade mountain peaks for rolling vineyards as we transfer just over an hour south to the Goriška Brda region—Slovenia’s version of Tuscany, minus the crowds.
You’ll have the rest of the afternoon and evening to relax, wander through the charming hillside town of Šmartno, sip a glass of local wine on the terrace, or enjoy a peaceful sunset overlooking the vineyards. Tonight we settle in at the beautiful San Martin Hotel, our base for the next two nights.
We’ll begin our final full day together on e-bikes exploring the rolling hills of Goriška Brda, one of Europe’s most underrated wine regions. We’ll ride through terraced vineyards, quiet villages, and panoramic ridgelines that stretch to the Italian border, pausing for a scenic picnic lunch amongst olive trees along the way.
The afternoon is yours to savor however you wish—whether that’s wine tasting at a local cellar, reading a book on the terrace, or simply soaking in the stillness and views.
Tonight, we’ll gather one last time for a special farewell dinner at a beautiful vineyard—celebrating new friendships, epic memories, and reflecting on the transformation that comes from saying “yes” to adventure.
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to the vineyards of Goriška Brda and make our way back to Ljubljana (approx. 2 hours).
We’ll reflect on the miles we’ve hiked, the moments we’ve shared, and the versions of ourselves we met along the way—returning home with more clarity, confidence, connection, and magic than we came with.
*Please note: Departure flights should be scheduled after 12PM to allow time for the morning transfer to the airport.
