About this trip

Tucked away in the heart of Europe lies one of its most breathtaking hidden gems—SLOVENIA. A land of dramatic alpine peaks, emerald lakes, turquoise rivers, and charming villages that feels almost too beautiful to be real.

On this unforgettable women's adventure, we'll paddleboard across pristine alpine lakes, trek through the majestic Julian Alps, spend a night in a mountain hut, raft and kayak down the turquoise Soča River, explore stunning waterfalls and picturesque towns, and e-bike in the wine country of Slovenia. It's the perfect blend of adventure, natural beauty, and moments to slow down and soak it all in.

Meet Your Trip Leader

Nikki Harrington and her family “accidentally” landed in Seattle eight years ago after hurricanes brought an unexpected end to one of their greatest adventures—living aboard a sailboat in Puerto Rico. What began as heartbreak eventually became a gift: discovering the Pacific Northwest, where adventure became a lifeline for healing, growth, and rediscovering herself.

In early 2025, Nikki's breast cancer diagnosis deepened her commitment to living fully and intentionally. Adventure became more than something she loved—it became a way to stay grounded, connected, and present through one of life's hardest seasons. Today, Nikki channels that spirit into her travel accessory brand, @islaandkaishop, and shares openly about healing through adventure, resilience, and choosing to live life fully at @wildridetravelfam.

Having experienced the transformative power of Your Limitless Adventures trips firsthand, Nikki is passionate about helping other women step outside their comfort zones, reconnect with themselves, and discover what's possible when they say YES to adventure. She's honored to be part of creating those same life-changing experiences for others.

Fairytales on Lake Bled

Today we venture into the picture-perfect beauty of Lake Bled—Slovenia’s most iconic and enchanting destination. After a scenic drive through the countryside from Ljubljana, we’ll hop aboard a traditional wooden boat to reach Bled Island, where you’ll have the chance to explore the medieval Bled Castle perched high above the lake, then enjoy a delicious lakeside lunch with a view.

In the afternoon, we’ll go for a hike through the stunning Vintgar Gorge, following wooden walkways and trails along emerald waters and cascading waterfalls.

After checking into the charming Old Parish Hotel, we will enjoy dinner overlooking Lake Bled at sunset—the perfect way to end the day.

Alpine Lakes & Waterfalls

We’ll start the day early with a short but rewarding hike to the stunning viewpoint of Mala Osojnica, where we’ll watch the sunrise cast golden light over Lake Bled. It’s one of the most iconic views in all of Slovenia—and the perfect way to begin the day.

After breakfast, we’ll head toward Lake Bohinj—a quieter, equally breathtaking glacial lake tucked inside Triglav National Park. Often called Slovenia’s hidden gem, it offers peace, tranquility, and wild alpine beauty. We’ll spend the morning stand-up paddleboarding across Bohinj’s crystal-clear waters, surrounded by towering peaks and some of the most beautiful scenery in the Julian Alps.

In the afternoon, we’ll make our way to the spectacular Savica Waterfall. A short forest trail leads us to this powerful cascade tucked into the mountainside—the perfect way to wrap up another adventurous day in Slovenia!

Into the Heart of the Julian Alps

Today, we’ll venture deep into the heart of the Julian Alps as we embark on an unforgettable trek through Slovenia’s breathtaking Seven Lakes Valley! This moderately challenging hike takes us from Planina Blato through lush alpine forests, picturesque mountain pastures, and dramatic limestone landscapes before reaching one of the most beautiful mountain huts in Slovenia.

Our route covers approximately 5.4 miles (8.7 km) one-way, with around 2,300 feet (700 m) of elevation gain. Don't worry though—we'll take our time on the trail with plenty of rest stops (and of course, lots of photo opps!). Along the way, we'll be surrounded by towering peaks, sweeping mountain views, and some of the most spectacular scenery in Triglav National Park.

For those craving a little extra adventure, there will be an optional hike farther into Seven Lakes Valley toward the stunning Kidney Lake (Jezero v Ledvicah), adding approximately 3 miles round trip and even more incredible alpine scenery!

We'll spend the night at Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih (Triglav Lakes Hut), a cozy, rustic mountain refuge nestled right beside the lake. Here, we'll enjoy a well-earned home-cooked meal, soak in the peaceful alpine surroundings, and settle into simple, shared mountain hut accommodations for an unforgettable night in the Julian Alps.

Finish trek + Descent into the Soča Valley

We'll wake up surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Julian Alps, enjoying a peaceful morning at our mountain hut before breakfast and another incredible day on the trails! After breakfast, we'll begin our descent through the spectacular Seven Lakes Valley, retracing our steps through rugged limestone landscapes, lush alpine meadows, and peaceful mountain forests. Along the way, we'll soak in the incredible scenery, stop for plenty of photos, and enjoy our final moments in the heart of Triglav National Park.

Once we reach the trailhead, we'll transfer to the Soča Valley—where turquoise rivers and quiet pine forests await. Our home for the next 3 nights is Pristava Lepena, a tranquil mountain retreat nestled just outside of Bovec. You'll have time to unwind, relax in the sauna or hot tub, and soak in the alpine energy before we gather for dinner under the stars.

Whitewater Fun on the Soča River

After a slow morning start, we'll shift gears for an unforgettable whitewater rafting and kayaking adventure on the emerald-green Soča River—often named one of the most beautiful rivers in all of Europe! We'll kick things off with an exhilarating rafting experience, navigating exciting rapids and winding through breathtaking alpine scenery. Then, we'll trade our rafts for kayaks and experience the river from a whole new perspective! This combo adventure offers the perfect balance of adrenaline, adventure, and awe, surrounded by towering mountains and some of the most spectacular turquoise waters you've ever seen.

In the afternoon, we'll slow things down with a chance to swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Soča River (if you're brave enough to take the chilly plunge!) and soak in the beauty of this incredible alpine paradise. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax and recharge—whether that's enjoying the pool, sauna, or hot tub at our mountain cabins, curling up with a book, or indulging in a massage (not included in the trip fee).

Alpine Views for Days

Today we’ll venture deeper into Slovenia’s alpine beauty—starting with a scenic drive up the dramatic Vršič Pass, the highest mountain pass in the country. We’ll lace up our hiking shoes again for a hike to Slemenova Špica (approx 4 miles with 1.5K elevation gain) one of Slovenia’s most beloved trails for good reason. This trail leads to a wide grassy ridge with jaw-dropping views of Mount Jalovec and dramatic limestone peaks.

Later in the day, we’ll make our way to Kozjak Waterfall—an easy and peaceful trail (approx 1.5 miles with 300 ft elevation gain) that leads to a tucked-away emerald pool and cascading waterfall, hidden inside a moss-covered cave. It’s one of Slovenia’s most photogenic and serene spots. Then we’ll return to our mountain cabins where we will also enjoy dinner together overlooking the mountain landscape.

Canyons & Wine Country Sunsets

This morning, thrill-seekers have the option to embark on one of Slovenia’s most epic adventures: canyoning through the jaw-dropping Fratarica Canyon. This half-day guided excursion involves rappelling down waterfalls, sliding through natural chutes, swimming in turquoise pools, and jumping into crystal-clear basins.

*Please note this is an optional add-on activity and perfect for those craving a true adrenaline fix in nature.

Afterward, we’ll trade mountain peaks for rolling vineyards as we transfer just over an hour south to the Goriška Brda region—Slovenia’s version of Tuscany, minus the crowds. You’ll have the rest of the afternoon and evening to relax, wander through the charming hillside town of Šmartno, sip a glass of local wine on the terrace, or enjoy a peaceful sunset overlooking the vineyards. Tonight we settle in at the beautiful and charming San Martin Hotel, our base for the next two nights.

Day 9: June 26th

Day 9: June 26th image

E-Bikes, Vineyards & Final Dinner

We’ll begin our final full day together on e-bikes exploring the rolling hills of Goriška Brda, one of Europe’s most underrated wine regions. We’ll ride through terraced vineyards, quiet villages, and panoramic ridge lines that stretch to the Italian border, pausing for a scenic lunch at a local vineyard. The afternoon is yours to savor however you wish—whether that’s wine tasting at a local cellar, reading a book on the terrace, or simply soaking in the stillness and views.

Tonight, we’ll gather one last time for a special farewell dinner at a beautiful vineyard—celebrating new friendships, epic memories, and reflecting on the transformation that comes from saying “yes” to adventure.

Departures

After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to the vineyards of Goriška Brda and make our way back to Ljubljana (approx. 2 hours). We’ll reflect on the miles we’ve hiked, the moments we’ve shared, and the versions of ourselves we met along the way—returning home with more clarity, confidence, connection, and magic than we came with.

*Please note: Departure flights should be scheduled after 12PM to allow time for the morning transfer to the airport.
