This is a medium group experience; Max , Avg 35. This means you'll be traveling with people from all over the world- laughter and friendships always guaranteed.


Physical Rating:  Light to Moderate
There will be some Light walking and hiking suitable for most fitness levels. Nothing too challenging.  Daily activities may include walking tours, visits to sites. If you enjoy nightlife, this trip will require stamina.

We will be commuting via van, bus and walking.

All travelers must be age 18+. Pricing is based on a per person rate.

We will meet you at the Airport. Our team will help get you checked in at your accommodations. Settle in, relax and feed your eyes to the new environment.   


Later this evening, we will host a Welcome Celebration where you'll have an opportunity to indulge in authentic Swahili cuisine while getting to know your fellow travelers.

Ancestors Wildest Dreams

After breakfast, depart to start our Sankofa Journey to Bagamoyo town


Bagamoyo is a home to world class Historical sites and one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites with rich cultural heritage waiting you to explore. Once a most important trading port along the East African Coast and a German East Africa

Capital and the penultimate stop of slave and ivory caravans traveling on foot from Lake Tanganyika on their way to Zanzibar.  Home to many ethnic groups Bagamoyo is one of the most important trading ports along the East African coast along the west of the Indian Ocean. Tens of thousands of enslaved Africans were brought through this port before being shipped across the Indian Ocean.


Today we step into the heart of Bagamoyo's historical significance. Uncover the remnants of the 19th-century slave trade, a chapter of African history that profoundly shaped the town. Visit the Bagamoyo Slave Market, where the echoes of resilience and strength linger in the air. This day in Bagamoyo promises an intimate exploration, tailored to resonate with the shared heritage of our African American guests. It's a pilgrimage to the past, a celebration of resilience, and an opportunity to embrace the cultural threads that bind us all together.

WELCOME TO ZANZIBAR

Today marks our departure from Dar es Salaam as we set our course towards the enchanting island of Zanzibar, also known as Unguja Island—the primary gem in the Tanzanian archipelago of Zanzibar. Nestled in the Indian Ocean, 15 miles off the Tanzanian coast, Zanzibar welcomes us to a realm of history and tranquility.


Our journey begins in Stone Town, an integral part of Zanzibar City. This historical trade center boasts mosques and winding lanes, echoing tales of a bygone era. Stone Town stands as a testament to Zanzibar's rich past and its role as a strategic hub along the spice and slave trade routes in the Indian Ocean. Delve into Zanzibar's captivating history, embracing its diverse influences from various nations. The island's narrative unfolds through its art, music, and culinary traditions. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Zanzibar's past, where each moment reveals layers of cultural fusion.


Today is crafted for leisure, offering the perfect opportunity to relax or explore spots recommended by friends back home.
