Sound Healing Layering Intensive — Crystal Bowls, Gongs & Beyond

Saturday, August 22 - 12 - 6 p.m. at Soul Strong Yoga

The Art of Layering: Creative Soundscapes for Meditation

Are you playing your sound healing instruments one by one?

This training is an invitation to deepen what you already know.

Together we'll explore the art of layering: how to bring in complementary instruments like tongue drums, ocean and water element sounds, chimes, and more, and how to play them intentionally so the result feels less like a sequence of separate instruments and more like a single, evolving soundscape.

As a Seasons of Sound graduate, you've built a strong foundation with crystal singing bowls and gongs.

On this intensive day, we turn our attention to what happens when those instruments stop being played in isolation and are woven together with others.

Who This Is For:

This intensive is open exclusively to graduates of our Seasons of Sound certification program.

A working familiarity with crystal singing bowls and gongs is essential, as we'll build directly on those skills.

The goal isn't to play more instruments but rather to play with greater awareness of texture, space, and transition. This creates an elevated, memorable sound journey like no other.

This is a creative and experiential space. We'll spend our time with instruments in hand, listening closely, experimenting, and learning to trust the choices that build a cohesive soundscape.

You'll leave with a richer palette to draw from and a deeper sense of how to shape sound with intention.

What We'll Explore:

The day's curriculum moves through a set of guiding themes:

  • Building on your crystal bowl and gong foundation as the anchor of a layered soundscape

  • Introducing complementary instruments — tongue drums, water and ocean sounds, chimes, and others — and understanding the unique quality each one brings

  • The principles of intentional layering: texture, dynamics, space, and silence

  • Crafting transitions so a soundscape moves and breathes rather than starting and stopping

  • Reading the energy of a space and responding in the moment

  • Practicing in a supportive group setting with feedback and exploration
