      About this trip

      Bali, Indonesia

The mere mention of Bali evokes thoughts of a paradise. It's more than a place; it's a mood, an aspiration, a tropical state of mind.  The rich and diverse culture of Bali plays out at all levels of life, from the exquisite flower-petal offerings placed everywhere, to the processions of joyfully garbed locals shutting down major roads as they march to one of the myriad temple ceremonies, to the otherworldly traditional music and dance performed island-wide. Almost everything has spiritual meaning. The middle of Bali is dominated by the dramatic volcanoes of the central mountains and hillside temples such as Pura Luhur Batukau (one of the island's estimated 10,000 temples), while the tallest peak, Gunung Agung, is the island's spiritual centre.

      Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

A skyline punctuated by minarets, Mogul-style domes and skyscrapers; colorful, food-stall-lined streets shaded by a leafy canopy of banyan trees – this is Kuala Lumpur.   Essential parts of the vibrant mix are the incense-wreathed, colorfully adorned mosques and temples of the country’s Malay, Chinese and Indian communities. A reverence for these ancient cultures is balanced with a drive to be plugged into the modern world, a desire that's reflected in a creative contemporary-art and design scene, an ambitious riverbank-regeneration project and dynamic architecture: the new Exchange 106 tower is taller than the iconic Petronas Towers.

      Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is a large city known for ornate shrines and vibrant street life. The boat-filled Chao Phraya River feeds its network of canals, flowing past the Rattanakosin royal district, home to opulent Grand Palace and its sacred Wat Phra Kaew Temple. Nearby is Wat Pho Temple with an enormous reclining Buddha and, on the opposite shore, Wat Arun Temple with its steep steps and Khmer-style spire.

The Phi Phi Islands are an island group in Thailand, between the large island of Phuket and the west Strait of Malacca coast of the mainland.

This is my fourth tour with The Travel Junkees; however, this is my first review. I have been reluctant to provide feedback hoping certain aspects of my experiences would improve, but to my dismay they continue to be consistent. This is the second trip where I have experienced issues with the t-shirts. I can’t comprehend why the shirts are not mailed immediately after the final payment is received. There is always an issue and this time we never received the shirts which is unacceptable. There are always daily Itinerary changes, conference calls are always late or change or never occur. Craig promises to follow up but never does. There was a problem with the tip this time, and I don’t understand why he can’t give us an estimate of an approximate amount like other travel agencies. The tour guides are not engaging and most of the time you can not hear what they are saying, I am not sure why he does not utilize headphones and microphones. There were two accommodations that were exceptional; however, I was extremely disappointed in our second accommodation because it did not have air, flies were everywhere, cats were jumping on the table while eating and the restroom and showers were in a separate building! You never know if your airport transportation is included it’s sometime contingent upon the number of people being transported. One minute we had to pay for our Visa the next minute it was being taken care of by Travel Junkees; however, when we returned from Jerusalem they charged us twice the amount for the Visa and demanded that we put it all on one credit card, which was incurred by one of the travelers! Craig is a very humorous, charismatic and an intelligent individual, the organization is disorganized and ambiguous. I absolutely love the individuals who travel with the organization they are accessible, amicable, considerate, and professional. I like Craig as a person but as a business person he has a lot to be desired. There is never an opportunity to network or introduce ourselves to each other or a chance for a meet and greet to provide cohesiveness. No name tags, buses never depart on time tours or are always behind schedule. They can never inform you of what to wear … Jeanine and Terry did a good job as guides they were always pleasant, kind and friendly. I keep hoping for different expectations, but continue to get the same results from Travel Junkees. Visiting the Jordan River, The Welling Wall and Jerusalem was priceless wish we had more time in Jerusalem so much history. I would love to see personal shopping time included in the agenda. The best part of the trip is making new friends and reacquainting with old friends. Love everyone sharing pictures on WhatsApp. The Holy Land Tour September 1, 2023

First, we never recieved our TJ shirts. Second, we never recieved options at Beudion camp. We were given a tent with no AC and no bathroom in the room in the middle of no where and 100 degree weather. Thirdly, tipping. We were tipping the driver and tour guide and was told, after we had already been tipping, that it was required that we tip $46 per person because the driver and tour guide felt the tips were not enough. This is bad buisness in my eyes. If a certain amount o tips are required then that should have been included. My party of 5 had been tipping everyone for the services we had received, as we always do.

We apologize for the negative experience you had during your recent trip to Jordan. We understand that not receiving your TTJ shirts, lack of options at the camp, uncomfortable accommodation, and unexpected tipping requirements have left you dissatisfied. We appreciate your feedback and would like to address each of your concerns in detail. Regarding the non-receipt of your TTJ shirts, we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We have mailed another set of shirts out to the address we have on file for you, along with one of our new QR code luggage tags. In regard to the options at Bedouin camp, we understand your disappointment. While we do not have specific information about the amenities and services offered at Bedouin camp, it is important for tour operators and campsites to clearly communicate the available options to their guests. We apologize for the discomfort you experienced due to the lack of air conditioning and bathroom facilities in your tent. It is unfortunate that these essential amenities were not provided, especially considering the high temperatures during your stay. Campsites should strive to ensure that guests have a comfortable and enjoyable experience by providing necessary facilities. Regarding tipping, we understand your frustration with the unexpected additional tipping issues. Tipping practices can vary depending on the destination and service provider. While it is common to tip drivers and tour guides for their services, it is essential for tour operators to clearly communicate any mandatory tipping policies upfront. We were not informed about a specific tipping requirement, if any. Although we have never had an issue on previous trips we have addressed these issues with our tour managers and tour company to ensure this issue never happens again. In conclusion, we apologize for the multiple issues you encountered during your trip. It is important for our team members to communicate clearly, provide accurate information, and ensure guest satisfaction.
