TUE OCT 22: ARRIVE ROME – TRANSFER TO BISCEGLIE (4.5 HRS)

● Upon arrival, go through customs, meet Christine from AEA and transfer as a group via train to Roma Termini (45 minutes), then take a direct, express train to Bari Centrale (4 hour); upon arrival, meet our Puglia Manager and transfer to hotel via private van (1 hour)

WED OCT 23: BISCEGLIE – TRANI – MARGHERITA DI SAVOIA – BISCEGLIE

● Head to Trani to visit the Jewish quarter, as well as a ceramics and terra cotta studio; learn how to make a terra cotta pot
● Cheese factory with fresh mozzarella demonstration and light food tasting
● After lunch, head to Margherita di Savoia and visit a sea salt production plant to learn about its production
● Dinner on your own (suggestions provided)

THU OCT 24: BISCEGLIE – BARI – VINEYARD – BISCEGLIE

● Explore the old town of Bari with a street food tour, learning how people in Bari live and what they eat; wrap up the morning with a Barese lunch!
● Afternoon visit to a local vineyard; explore the grounds and learn about their wine production methods (includes tasting)
● Evening free to explore and enjoy dinner on your own (suggestions provided)

FRI OCT 25: BISCEGLIE – MASSERIA – JAZZO – MURGIA – BISCEGLIE

● Breakfast at the hotel
● Head out for a full day in Masseria, with a visit to wheat fields and a wheat production facility with discussion/Q+A about the production process
● Follow up with a baking class focusing on traditional bread and focaccia, followed by a food tasting
● Light lunch on your own (suggestions provided)
● In the afternoon, visit an olive grove and vegetable fields to learn first-hand what it’s like to be a farmer in Puglia
● Head to Jazzo, with unique architecture in Murgia where shepherds used to store sheep overnight to avoid wolves
● Late afternoon visit to Calendano for a farewell dinner

SAT OCT 26: DEPART FOR USA

● Transfer via private van to Rome Fiumicino Airport (4.5 hours) to catch your late afternoon or evening flight home
