About this trip

We must risk delight. We must have the stubbornness to accept our gladness in the ruthless furnace of this world." -Jack Gilbert

Join Retreat Creator and Movement and breathwork Coach Lila Heller and guest teachers Shannon Knorr,  Sound Healing Practitioner Natalie Lobue,  and Acupuncturist Prema Arhin, for this healing journey into the hills of Mendocino, CA.

Spend 4 nights and 5 days with us delving into Movement, Meditation, Art, Journal Writing and Connection at the Bell Valley Retreat Center.   Spring is the perfect time to re-member and tap into your creative selves. We will use art, movement, sound and somatic practices to remind ourselves that life is still beautiful. In community, together, surrounded by nature and the flowering newness of spring.

Bell Valley Retreat Center is located just outside the town of Boonville. Nestled in a protected watershed, Bell Valley offers a refuge from the bustle of daily life and stress. There are six miles of trails that weave throughout the beauty and solitude of rolling oak hills and open meadows. The unique accommodations are thoughtfully integrated into the landscape some of which are located in the historic Toll House.

About Your Guides

Shannon Knorr

She believes Pilates and Yoga is for everybody and that experiencing the healing power of movement positively impacts how you look and feel. Shannon fully believes that these practices are building a relationship. It is not a pill you take once and you are cured. We are learning to cultivate and deepen our relationship to ourselves, our bodies. All parts of ourselves. Learning to navigate the multiple layers of ourselves and our body. Emotional, physical, dream, mental, ancestral and spiritual bodies. Accessing our own resources and inner connections. The more we know and embody ourselves, the more we can feel the connection of ourselves to the greater universe and truly know our purpose.

The breath is our guide into the body

Past and future are in our minds, the body is NOW

Founder of Embody Studio. Shannon completed her Pilates certification in 2003 through PhysicalMind and Balanced Body. I came back from this trip physically able to BREATHE again! Truly magical experience, and the perfect mix of new learning, time with friends, down time, and amazing food. I loved Mar de Jade and the history. Lila and Katie's instruction is master-level and I have my 70-year old mom doing the class every day now!

The retreat that Lila Heller and Katie Ybarra led at Mar de Jade was fabulous! The movement and breathwork sessions were excellent, the resort and surrounding area is beautiful, the meals are delicious, and we had a wonderful group of participants. I thoroughly enjoyed the week.

This retreat far exceeded my expectations. I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing, rejuvenating, and beautiful retreat experience. Lila puts so much thought into every aspect of her retreats, from the agenda to food and location, all carefully and thoughtfully planned out. She also attracts the most amazing people! I made many new friends, with plenty of time for rest between activities. I returned home fully inspired, relaxed, and restored. I will definitely be on the lookout for more Lila retreats!

Lila is a masterful teacher adapting the classes to a wide range of levels. The retreat had excellent locally sourced and tastefully prepared meals at an idyllic chateau. Local wine was also readily available. Had a great time!
