April 2026
We've opened up the calendar for April. First come first serve booking.
Price
$5,950 - for the boat, captain included
$7,900 - 10 days/ 9 nights, captain included
4 guests maximum.
The Boat
Madrona has two cabins, plus two couches, and one head. She's equipped with a full galley where meals will be prepared and shared family-style, just like the cleaning duties. We'll tow along a dinghy to shuttle our gear and ourselves ashore. Don't worry, there's also a nice operational diesel heater.
Speaking of meals, you are responsible for planning, shopping, & provisioning the boat for your meals and expeditions. Captain Nate will provide 3 group meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) but please include him in your plans for shared meals aboard. Plan on packing your own lunches, whether sandwiches, or something more gourmet. There are no services outside of Seward for water, fuel, or alcohol. You are limited to conserving the 45 gallons of water. Don't forget your own alcoholic beverages of choice.
Can I hire a cook?
Yes! Provisioning the boat is a big job, and cooking after a long day sounds rough.
Bring Kate along (2026 only) to take care of the meal planning, provisioning, cooking and cleaning! You will receive an email with menu options and select your favorites, and Kate will do the rest!
Additional fee: $2,450
Please select "Provisions and cooking included" Add-on when prompted.
Skiing Abilities Required
*Advanced skiers only. Must have AvI 1 certificate.
*Additional fee for certified ski guide.
While Captain Nate is an experienced backcountry skier, he is not a ski guide. You are joining as a skilled participant in navigating the backcountry and touring safely. The group and each individual’s physical shape play a big role in the group's success. We will plan the route together for each day, according to weather and conditions. If weather and snow conditions permit, we plan to ski as much as possible on this trip. If anyone wants or needs a day’s rest during the trip, that’s also totally fine! After the ski touring and during the day, we sail on to the next anchorage and prepare for a new peak the next day.
What is accessible from Seward?
Peaks within Resurrection Bay are most easily accessible from Seward, from the beaches in Thumb Cove and Bull Dog Cove. To get out further requires rounding capes with the possibility of bigger waters and sea conditions. We will plan for the best weather window to reach Aialik Bay and Northwestern Fjords, where more peaks are accessible from the beaches.
It's possible to explore East into Day Harbor or even SW Prince William Sound in a week if weather permits.
No guarantees
This is an outdoor expedition where several factors must play together for success, and the weather is the biggest uncertainty. Given where we are and the forces of nature, we take every precaution and prepare for safe sailing and a safe expedition up and down mountains. We will do our best to ensure the technical aspects of the boat and equipment are working, but we unfortunately cannot guarantee that we will ski everyday.

How do we get to shore?
We will tow a dinghy along behind the boat, anchor safely in a nearby cove, then shuttle people and gear to shore. These approaches can require walking in shallow water, so Xtra Tuffs are recommended for getting to shore.
