How does this course work?

The SSI Scuba Skills Update is designed to help certified divers review their skills in a structured and stress-free environment.

Step 1- eLearning (before arrival):
Start with SSI digital learning, allowing you to refresh your knowledge from home. You’ll review dive planning, safety procedures, equipment use, buoyancy control, and emergency protocols.

Step 2 – Pool session (day 1):
Once you arrive, you’ll begin with a pool training session under the guidance of an experienced instructor. This session covers:

  • Equipment setup and use
  • Buoyancy control techniques
  • Mask clearing and regulator recovery
  • Safe ascents and descents
  • Emergency procedures

Step 3 – 2 open water dives (day 2):
The next morning, you’ll head out on a two-tank dive trip to Catalina Islands, where you’ll put your refreshed skills into practice. With volcanic rock formations and vibrant marine life, it’s the perfect environment to regain confidence while exploring beautiful dive sites.
