Wow, just…WOW!  We traveled with Victory for the NHL global series in Sweden and Finland last fall. I cannot say enough about how organized and entertaining this was due to James and the gang at Victory.  We typically like to travel on our own and avoid the “herding mentality” of tour groups. However, It was so well planned that we got to enjoy the group-events and have plenty of free time to explore on our own. I 100% recommend using Victory!

It was a great trip for us. The accommodations were well located in both Munich and Prague. while we were busy not overly stressed as the itinerary was well laid out. The tour staff was very friendly and informative, real down to earth folks. We really enjoyed the trip and would recommend Victory to anyone we talk to. Hope we have an opportunity to do another Trip.

We had a great time. James, Earl, Peter and Jouni were great and took great care of us. The excursions were well planned and fun-especially the Octoberfest and the Holy Mountain tour. We met some great people and hopefully we will continue to be in touch. I would highly recommend Victory Travel.

We had an amazing time!! The travel, the sights, the food and the wine were next level! We saw some amazing sights and incredible food and wine. The tour was very well organized and our DMC Laura was very helpful and always there for us when we needed her. 

2024 Tuscany Wine Tour

The trip overall was fantastic. The coordinators were always available, helpful, and flexible when things didn’t go exactly to the expected plan, therefore elevating our experience. One example is we got a different room than expected upon check-in, and within minutes after working with a coordinator our room was changed. All the additional excursions offered were a value-add. There was a nice balance between planned activities and free time, and all the group activities were enjoyable too. The specific Sabres events were also great. Thank you to Earl, Peter, Jouni, and James leading an incredible trip.

Every aspect of this trip exceeded our expectations. The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. The food experiences were beyond wonderful.  I cannot think of anything that I could say in a negative way.  All planned down to the last detail and communication about where we needed to be and what time was outstanding.  I could go on for more insights but I hope the others on the trip will say the same.  Thank you so much from our family of 6,  


The overall trip was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience to be immersed in another culture while sharing the trip with +100 new friends who love the Red Wings.  The first leg of our journey to Finland was indeed first class.  Great hotel and location within the city.  The group dinner with the Ottawa fans was a cool idea.  Nice video message from Yzerman, but was hoping to meet some Finish NHL alumni from Helsinki.  Our guides Olli and Meri were both excellent, and even checked up on us a few times after we moved on to Sweden.  Whatever was thrown at them they figured out a solution to make sure our trip wasn't impacted.  The biggest was finding another cruise ship to Stockholm when our original ship was not available due to an outbreak.  Another time we had to walk to our location and Olli said it wasn't going to rain.  As the rain started to come down, he ran into a store and bought 20 umbrellas so we would all be more comfortable.  What a guy!  I cannot thank Olli, Meri, and crew enough!!

Sweden was equally as amazing from the culture standpoint.  Breakfast at the hotel was amazing, and the hotel and location were close to a lot of fun places in Sweden.  The surprise riverboat tour with some Red Wings alumni was an awesome treat.  I wish the lighting on the boat was a bit better for the photos we all took with the players.

Unfortunately a lot of the details from the tour company did not meet expectations.  I don't know if it was a lack of confidence or inexperience, but the team did not project that they knew what they were doing.  Small things like not being sure when telling us the plan, to messaging us about going to the Toronto game when we were going to the Ottawa game that night.  Almost from the moment we docked we had issues.  The buses didn't have enough room for everyone's luggage, so we had to leave our bags on the side of the road with the promise they would be picked up and delivered to the hotel.  As we drove away no one was waiting with our bags as promised.  Very unsettling feeling in a foreign country.

Red Wings practice was awesome, but would have been even better if we heard live from Lidstrom and Yzerman who we saw talking in the corner.  Very happy to see Zetterberg, Kronwall, and Samuelsson though.  Check-in at the hotel was a mess.  There should have been a table set-up with everyone's keys and organized alphabetically.  Instead, random keys were being handed out in the lobby by the concierge shouting last names over the buzz of the crowd.  It was very chaotic and the hotel didn't seem to know how to handle a large group of people.

Another day we were excited to go to the Vasa museum, and were promised despite them not being open at 8:45am (they opened at 11am) that someone would meet us at the museum and let us in for a special tour.  After 25 minutes no one was coming, so we were forced to go to the ABBA museum even though many of us had not paid for that one.  This also differed from the print schedule which was our first sign something was wrong.  The group photo was very disorganized, happened in like 2 seconds, and we never got offered the picture like we did in Finland so I imagine the picture didn't turn out very well.  We started off our Swedish food tour with a Chinese restaurant which I found curious when we all wanted to try Swedish food.

The Global Fan Fest was fun, but again we were dropped off a bit far from the entrance.  Then when we got to the tent door we were told we couldn't come in.  Thank goodness Danielle Bruce and Liz from the Red Wings were inside and knew we needed wristbands to get in.  It would have been nice to have an extra hour at this location to experience more of the activities, meet alumni, see the Stanley Cup, shop for merch, and skate at the outdoor rink.

For the hockey games, those who went to Finland first seemed to get upper bowl tickets for both games.  Meanwhile those who did only Sweden got lower bowl tickets.  It would have been more fair to split the games so one group got lower bowl for each game while sitting upper bowl for the other game.  It was also noticeable that some people had very bad seats at the top row, while our tour guides sat as low as they could (not good optics given how the trip was going).  We never met or saw James Hanlon which given all the issues we were having each day would have been helpful to know someone cared and was in charge.

The Ice Bar was a lot of fun, but again we initially didn't have enough group drink tickets and no one was checking to make sure everyone that went had paid for the excursion.  The final group dinner was a great, but for a group our size the place selected had a challenge taking care of us timely and we were sitting all over the place on multiple levels.  Some of our friends barely got dessert before the buses were leaving so they didn't get to fully enjoy the experience.

Finally the check-in on the flights home was very disorganized.  Since everyone was on the same group reservation, every few of us could use the app to check-in ahead of time.  The airport didn't have staff to assist until after 4:30am when we arrived at 3:30am.  To Emelie's credit she stayed with us, but nothing she could really do because the kiosks were not working either so we were at the mercy of the airport.  If I'm ever fortunate enough to take a trip like this again, I would hope the travel company learns from these issues and put a better effort into the next trip.

We had a fantastic experience!   Our Coordinators in Finland were absolutely the best!!!!  So knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, accommodating and so much more.   They truly made the Finland part of the trip flawless and memorable!   
Loved so much of Sweden.  The Coordinators in Stockholm had much to be desired.   Much of the time it was a wing it situation or even a complete mess up.   We were left without transportation the very first day.   It finally did arrive almost an hour later.  After a long day of travel not the best introduction to Stockholm.   The Downtown Camper was nice but very much in the heart of the city.   We prefer more open and nature.  
All in all a great trip.   After all it is what you put into it that you get out of it.   We made the best of the situations when they were less then ok.

It was the best vacation trip we have ever taken. Everything was absolutely top-notch!

We had fantastic time on the trip. The accommodations were fine and very well located. The breakfasts in the morning was something to look forward to start the day. The tours were fun. I wish the weather was better in Finland because it took some of the fun from the tours in the wet cold weather. The Sweden food tour was especially very good. Of course the Wild reception and meeting the players was great as were the games. Our family will thoroughly enjoyed it all

I had a great time. The Finnish coordinators in particular were fantastic and the trip as a whole was a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime experience. Even when there was an issue with my accommodation at both cities, the coordinator and travel agency got it figured out in a timely manner. Thank you for making this trip an easy one to enjoy!

A fun time with many hockey fans! Lots of activities and time to make new friends. We really got a feel for the cities we visited.

This trip was absolutely fantastic! I was impressed with the emails I received before the trip. They were informative and provided so much detail.  My mom and I traveled together on this trip and neither of us had traveled abroad before so were a bit nervous.  The ground transportation was comfortable, timely, and such a relief to have. The hotel was excellent in terms of the cleanliness, breakfast, afternoon snacks, and LOCATION.  The on-site coordinators were so, so wonderful!  They became an important resource during the trip and it was so comforting knowing they were available to answers, make recommendations, and just to chat with to learn more about Sweden.  The itinerary was thorough.  The communication during the trip to make sure people knew where to be and when was so helpful! It was just what my mom and I wanted to feel comfortable in a foreign country.  There was a good balance of planned activities and free time.  I really have no complaints or constructive criticism about this trip and tour.  We heard from fans there for other teams that they didn't get to interact with the players at all.  They were impressed that we received the jackets and backpacks.  The invitation to watch a game prior to the tour to pick up our gifts and meet others going on the tour was a huge bonus.  And the couple we met at that game are the ones we ended up seeing at the airport when we arrived and we spent time with in our free time and during planned events.  All of the staff were extremely responsive and seemed genuinely concerned about making it the best trip possible.  I cannot believe the coordination of all the planning, details, and logistics on such a huge scale - hundreds of people, multiple countries, so many activities - so impressive and remarkable.  I cannot say enough about the quality and value of the services for this trip.  I have been telling everyone about this trip.  So many people followed my travels on social media and said the trip looked amazing.  I have been telling everyone that I highly recommend Victory Travel and the Global Series Fan Tour.  I would go again in a heartbeat.

Stockholm was amazing, the trip was a good balance between organized events and open time to explore on own.  The tour coordinators were always available to answer questions and make suggestions on places to go and how to get there. 

This was a once in a lifetime trip to Helsinki and Stockholm.  We met so many wonderful people!  The group activities were very good and the food was delicious.  The hotels were  great with fantastic breakfasts each day.   If the Red Wings are part of a Global Series, we'd sign up again.  

Thank you for an excellent trip.  We had a great experience and made new friends.  Once in a lifetime adventure.
If suggestions are entertained, my only request would be bigger rooms available.  The hotel was sold out so no chance to upgrade. 
For that city, the Radisson and Hilton are great options, for those who want to pay more for more space.  
The city and the tours were very well done and the guides did a great job.

Fantastic trip! Great people, fun activities and very well organized. Throughout the entire trip: the booking process., Stockholm, hotel accommodations, tours to landing home the communication was excellent.  Our guides in Stockholm were amazing! We miss Maya's smiling face and Caroline's charm and guidance.  The two made the trip even more enjoyable. Definitely 5 Star service by all.



This trip exceeded my expectations in every way.  Lovely hotel, luxury transportation, great events, very well organized, friendly staff, good communication, felt like someone was always looking out for me!  Appreciated all the free time, too.  This trip gets 5 stars in every category.

My son and I had a wonderful experience.  I enjoyed it even more because of enjoyment my son expressed throughout the trip.  He was seeing Scandinavia for the the first time.  He also enjoyed being able to interact with other Senators Fanatics who afforded him patience and respect during many conversations.  The Coordinators and Guides were terrific in both Helsinki and Stockholm.  The group meals and accommodation were excellent. The trip was very fun!  Tour guides Cornelia and Therese were great. 
Lines of communication could more open, nothing major. Bus coordination was a bit chaotic at times. 
Biggest snafu was Frankfort airport which you have no control.  

This was as well organized a travel experience as I have ever experienced. The folks at Victory travel (Super Alex, Maya and Peter) were so accommodating and covered any small disruptions with such ease. Perfectly seamless . I really was sad to see the trip end.

We had a wonderful time. Tour guides were great! People very friendly and food was out of this world delicious.

This was definitely a 5 star experience! Our guide’s  Jarkko in Finland and  David in Stockholm along with the Senior Coordinator Peter were great. They made themselves available anytime day or night to handle any situation. The lodging and meals provided in both Finland and Stockholm were outstanding!

We had the vacation of a lifetime!  What an adventure with a bunch of Minnesota hockey fans!!  The trip was well planned and administrated, no surprises at all.  If there was a surprise, it was a good one!  The hotel accommodations, bus travel, excursions...everything was top notch!  The guides in both Finland and Sweden were very knowledgeable and helpful...they became family to the whole group!  We would definitely go on another Victory Travel tour!

Almost nothing bad to say about this experience, fantastic efforts from all involved and well executed. Will definitely be looking for future opportunities with this program. Just hope the Red wings get another overseas game. A little wild that the tour guides were Toronto fans but I suppose I’ll give them a pass.

This was a great trip! The guides were fun and responsive. Watching the practice and the autograph signing with the team for  the photo mats was truly a highlight. The addition of the boat cruise was appreciated. We were a bit disappointed that our tickets for the games were in the upper deck--to me a "premium" tour means premium tickets, which ours weren't.  Otherwise, we were thrilled with our experience and hope that the Wild are in another Global Series soon!

This was our honeymoon and we had a great time! Our experience in Helsinki was amazing with our guides, Antti and Johanna, really going above and beyond to make our international experience smooth, personal, and authentic. 
The hotel in Stockholm was very nice and Swedish meatballs lived up to the hype. It is a high pace trip but very relaxing to have everything planned for you. Even on the off days the guides would give you suggestions on what to do. Recommend for anyone!

We are giving 4 stars because of the disorganization of the Stockholm guides when we arrived in Stockholm.

Kelly…glad you enjoyed the trip.   I met many tour members all week,  in Helsinki, on the cruise,  in Stockholm, at the Globe Arena games and at Fem Sma Hus.  I don’t think my presence should affect your trip experience as we hired so many great coordinators but it is very difficult for one person to personally meet all 500-600 people in such a short window.  This is exactly why we hired many Senior Coordinators, Junior Coordinators and two Social Ambassadors as touch points for Victory.  Thanks, James 

We had a great time, food was delicious, people were wonderful, Ollie and Merie were more prepared than Asanda and Emilee, but they still did wonderful. Apparently James was on the trip the whole time, but I never once saw him and he wasn't helpful like the coordinators, so maybe he'd like to interact with the tour groups every now and then.  Finland was absolutely wonderful, lots of diverse things to do, not a whole lot of downtime and the hotel was wonderful!  In Stockholm the lodgings weren't as nice, and we weren't at the center of downtown, but too far off. The Viking Line cruise ship was a last minute replacement for the Silja Line cruise ship and I should applause the tour for getting a replacement so quickly with no hassle to us at all.  Given how much we paid for the trip, I did expect the game nights to have better tickets than upper bowl one night, but I was at least glad to have lower bowl for the second night. All in all, I had a great time and would do it all again. 

We had a great time. Met many really great people, had some wonderful food, the rooms were small compared to what we are used to but we were aware of that fact. The hotels were nice and very comfortable. Everything at the beginning of the tour in Finland went perfectly. I can't say enough good things about our coordinators in Finland, Olli and Meri. They were wonderful. A few glitches/problems once we hit Sweden. We enjoyed all of the tours that were offered, we went on all of them, but especially the food tours. They were excellent. Overall a good experience and are glad that we went.

Hi Jill….. we did have notes on all room lists for twin bed use including yours.  I wish you would have reached out to us during the first few nights because I had extra available rooms at other hotels nearby (unfortunately your hotel was at 100% capacity) and we would have gladly moved you without any extra cost. While overall it was a great trip, there were some issues with accommodations. When I signed up, I signed up for myself and my father and I SPECIFICALLY mentioned (on both participant sign ups) that we would need separate beds because we are father and daughter. If it were my mom and I on the trip, it wouldn't have been an issue. However, neither my dad nor I were comfortable with sharing a bed. 
When we arrived in Stockholm, we were extremely disappointed to find out our room had a single bed (double-size mattress) with no space in our room for a roll-away bed (which I found out the hotel had later in the week) or the option to switch rooms. I knew going in that European hotels are not set up the same as American hotels, so I knew we weren't each going to have a double/queen bed; I thought we would maybe get a two twin beds room. I ended up using the extra large pillows from the bed as a "mattress" and sleeping on the floor the entire week.
I can't entirely fault the hotel, since I don't know what information the travel agency gave them. I also can't entirely fault the travel agency as I don't know what information they gave the hotel and if the hotel paid attention to it. Needless to say, I was ready to go home a LOT sooner than I probably would have been normally but that was mostly due to the fact I didn't have a decent night's sleep in over a week.
Looking back, I may have skipped the ice bar and done the food tour instead, giving us a more spread out week of events. I also thought the ice bar was going to be a little more interesting than it actually was. However, we were able to go to the Viking Museum and tour the palace on Sunday because we didn't do the food tour and knowing our food preferences, a better use of our time and money.

For the most part the trip was very well organized.  There was plenty of opportunity to participate in excursions.  It was great to have everything preplanned and taken care of for us.

Our trip included stays in Helsinki, Stockholm, Oslo and Amsterdam. The first 2-cities in our tour was planned for over 150-particpants and the travel arrangements, accommodations, food and service (including tour guides in each city) were great.

this was a very nicely organized trip    we were kept busy with fun activities every day    my only suggestion for later trip is maybe give us an opportunity to choose a bigger room   we did up grade our room and it was perfect but caused a bit of stress at the beginning of the trip   some of us would be willing to pay ztra for a bigger room if possible   thanks for a great time!!

Charles....thank you for your feedback.     We were fortunate to have many experienced Global Series coordinators in Finland.   With half the group size there and a very small geographical area to cover,  they did a great job with a perhaps simpler itinerary.   In Stockholm,   the group sizes doubled,  we had some new rookie coordinators because our group sizes were so large and a much larger geographical area for logistics to manage.   So we acknowledge a few miscommunications and issues but we worked through them.  As for game tickets, the stadium is very small (only 13k) and we are at the mercy of the what the NHL allocates to us.    Even the NHL clubs don't know exact locations or sections of their block of seats until they receive them a few weeks before departure (all Global Series games are Sold Out).   So our number one priority is ensuring families and couples sit together.   We are happy you enjoyed the rest of your tour!

Olli & Meri did a great job in Finland with all of the tours and keeping the group updated and moving forward; they set the bar very high! 

The Sweden group in comparison had some confusion and miscommunications. This started with not having enough space with the luggage once we arrived via ferry. Which could not easily be remedied as the local guides had not been provided access to the group chat by the main admin to provide updates. The harbor cruise was nice, but again part of the group needed to be out on the deck as there weren't enough seats inside. The group photo in Sweden was also not very well coordinated and communicated on when the photo was being taken. A major miscommunication occurred with the VASA & ABBA museum tours that impacted those who went and those who didn't. 

This might not be on Victory travel but a few comments about the games: Not all of the premium plus members were in the same section. Some were seated in lower bowl and others in upper bowl, there should have been clearer seat selection / options. The seat selection differed from game to game with no explanation on why. Example: it didn't make sense that those in the premium tour were lower bowl and premium plus were in the upper bowl. 

Overall a good trip although there is room for improvement.

Renee and Tom....thank you for your feedback.   We always accept feedback to try and improve our service especially after a very large project like this with 500-600 travelers.  We had 3 duplicate game tickets out of approximately 1000.   And those issues were solved within 30 minutes because we had staff waiting outside to help with extra tickets.    We have never classified the game tickets as "VIP".  In fact, on the booking site, we do not even list section, level or seat location because we are at the mercy of what the NHL allocates to us (it is a small stadium with only 13k seats and every game is sold out).    As for my presence, I met tonnes of fans on the overnight cruise and sorry I missed you but it is difficult to meet all 500-600 people !  We acknowledge some issues on the initial days in Stockholm......this was when the Premium Groups combined with the Premium Plus groups so the total amount of people doubled instantly and naturally with that amount of people, there is a greater chance of miscommunication and/or confusion.   Some things unfortunately are out of our control.....the additional luggage bus we ordered got in an accident........and we heard there was a movie being filmed at your hotel !  Thank You and glad you enjoyed both cities and the rest of the tour.


Overall planning was very good with great hotels in great locations, and nice buses. 

Our stay in Helsinki, Finland was fabulous, and it was aided by two extremely helpful and knowledgeable tour guides, and this portion of the trip went as planned. Ollie and Meri had "office" hours and were often in the lobby and at breakfast with the group. They helped us buy tickets and plan events, plus they were very professional. 

Arriving in Stockholm, Sweden was completely different experience.  There was a major fiasco with luggage when we arrived, our events did not follow the schedule and/or changed a few times. We did not receive adequate information regarding events, and if food and water would be provided. The four guides spoke broken English and could not answer most of our general questions, plus we had no way to contact the organizers the first day or two. 
Numerous travelers kept asking for more information, but nothing happened until a few of us contacted upper management.  When we finally got more information, it was often after 9 pm at night, when most of us had already gone to bed due to the time change. 

The line to pick up our Red Wings tickets was long and slow. Once at the arena, numerous people could not get in because the organizers printed duplicate e-tickets in error.  Before the game, we were told we would all be together and around center ice, about one third of the way up from the ice.  

The first night, our "VIP" tickets were on the goal line, in the nosebleed section. The second night was better with seats in the lower bowl, but in the corner.  Our group of 160 was spread out into groups of twenty in all areas of the arena, vs. placing our entire group anywhere near one another. Some had good seats for both games and others did not. Considering that we had to decide by July 1st if we were attending, it seems like the seating could have been handled differently. 

We had a great time with our travel group and loved both cities, but the execution in Sweden was horrible. Our overall trip coordinator, James Hanlon, was virtually invisible. We did see him briefly as he directed us from the Sweden Airport to our buses. Later, we found out he was on our overnight cruise ship but never made that known. 

It seems like this is not a Victory Travel issue, but perhaps more of a travel coordinator problem, but that is just my guess.   

Hi Scott....thank you for your honest feedback.   We appreciate it.     We were a bit disappointed with the group sales team at the hotel not informing us about the Movie being filmed on their property (considering how big our group was) which caused some confusion and loss of space.   As an example, we had moved business away from this particular hotel in 2017 when they informed us, prior to, there would be construction on the road directly in front of the hotel.   As for the extra pool cost, this is a bit of a "when in Rome" situation........in many European or Scandinavian countries, they charge for public washrooms, pools or other additional amenities.   Thank you for your honest review and we are happy you enjoyed the trip !  Victory.

all went well, except at hotel - 
one of our rooms was not as it was supposed to be.  we're told they had none of the room styles we had reservations for,  so two of us had to sleep in same bed.  that upset me and then the film crews!  who probably were responsible for the lack of rooms.  they were everywhere, lobby, elevators, entrance way, second floor, spa area.  the hotel was clearly catering to them and we just had to put up with it, it was garbage!  this hotel lobby was small, when the crew was shooting in lobby or in front of hotel it was a cluster f***.  we had to wait constantly to just use the elevators, again bs!  half way through the stay we were able to be moved to lager room, but too little to late in my opinion.  i do believe that you, victory travel, should have been aware of these inconveniences and made changes to our location and dont get me started as to picking a hotel where the usage of a pool is extra! all in all a good trip, but lacked in respect to lodging.  lastly i dont think a 5 hour layover in germany is travel friendly, that also was garbage! your coordinators on site were great!
