This transformational advanced teacher training will be hosted by Joan Hyman, founder of The School of Yoga in Goa, India at Nalanda Resort in Mandrem Beach. This is a certified training from Yoga Alliance where students can work towards their 300 Hour Teacher Training with The School of Yoga (SOY) or add these hours towards their continuing education. You can complete the rest of the hours in a virtual course or live at a world wide training.
In this 150 Hour teacher training, Joan will include a variety of topics listed below along with daily asana, pranayama, and meditation practice. Joan Hyman is the director and founder of The Schoolof. yoga™, an authentic international teacher training program focused on continuing
education. Her grounded teaching style seamlessly supports her students and her teachings come from an organic and intuitive place. She draws upon the combined studies of the Ashtanga and Iyengar methods, as well as Ayurveda and meditation. An authentic
modern-day yogi, Joan’s love and devotion show up in her practice and
throughout her teaching.
This training course will include:
• Advanced asana and pranayama practices daily.
•. Therapeutics,, working with injuries, and healing the nervous system.
• Understanding how to integrate the five koshas into our practice and lifestyle.
• ,Learn to read bodies and explore the art of hands on adjustments that cater to the individual.
•. Explore classic yogic texts, including The Sutras, The Bhagavad Gita, and The Hatha Yoga Pradipika.
•. Integrate the practice of Ayurveda into your daily life and teaching.
•. Refine your sequencing skills and learn to sequence for the beginner and advanced yogi.
•. Deepen your understanding of pranayama and stillness.
• We will explore teaching modalities that will help you teach with confidence! If you are not taking this training to become a teacher, you will gain a deeper understanding of practice and communication skills.
This training will include guest teachers offering sound baths, kirtans, and body work. The main teacher will be Joan along with special guests to create an immersive experience you won't forget!
This will also be a career path for teachers that have already taken their 200 Hour teacher training or who are already practicing and teaching and wish to continue on their journey. If you haven't taken a 200 Hour, please message Joan for a bridge program supported by a few online courses.
This will be 150 Hours credited towards The School of Yoga.

One month before this training, I will arrange a zoom call to answer all questions about traveling to India. You will need a travel visa, which can be purchased one month prior to travel. You must have your flight details first and a return ticket.

Tentative Schedule:
7:30am - 10:30am Pranayama & Asana Practice
10:30am - 1:30pm - Brunch, Rest & Beach Time
1:30pm - 3:30pm - Lecture and Discussion
3:30pm - 4pm - Break/ Snack
4pm - 6pm - Teaching theory, wind down practice, or guest teachers.
6pm - Sunset
7pm - Dinner
8:30pm - Evening Activities including kirtan, yogi nidra, meditation, shamanic sound bath, and estatic dance.
Check in is on January 18, 2025 at 3pm. Many flights arrive very early in the morning or the middle of the night, so you can book your room early to ensure you can rest before the training begins. I highly recommend traveling on Qatar, Emirates, & Cathy Pacific.

The opening ceremony will begin at 5pm starting with a PUJA and short grounding practice. Dinner will be served at 7pm.
Check out will be January 31 at 1pm. Most flights leave early in the morning or at night. The closing ceremony and graduation will be January 30, and practice will be from 8am - 10am on Jan. 31. You can chose to skip Jan. 31 practice if your flight leaves early on Jan. 31. You can arrange a shuttle with Nilanda to take you to the airport.
