About this trip

The theme of our post Thanksgiving Weekend Yoga Retreat is gratitude. We will weave this gratitude theme throughout all our sessions, reminding ourselves to feel gratitude in our lives. With yoga, meditation, hiking or running, delicious homemade and nourishing meals, and local organic wine tasting, we hope you will leave feeling energized, rejuvenated and relaxed. Through the practice of gratitude, we can manifest more happiness, joy and well being into our lives, and appreciate every moment as a beautiful gift.

The yoga classes will be a blend of Hatha and Vinyasa Flow, linking movement with the breath, moving your body through both power and restorative poses. The classes will be theme-based, creative and balanced and will incorporate pranayama (breathing), strengthening, stretching, detoxing, energizing, and meditation. You will experience a safe and nurturing practice, leaving you feeling relaxed yet energized.

You will learn ChiRunning and ChiWalking, making running or walking effortless by letting gravity do the work. Blending principles of Tai Chi with running and walking, you move from your core muscles, allow gravity to assist your forward momentum, and let your legs relax. This reduces impact and eliminates the cause of injury, helping you to run or walk more safely, for longer, feel lighter and more relaxed, go faster, and enjoy running or walking for a lifetime! You will learn proper alignment and posture, body sensing, injury prevention, core strengthening, energy efficiency, lean, ankle lift, arm swing, stride length, cadence, gait analysis, joint loosener exercises, breathing techniques, and mindful and meditative running techniques.

All levels are welcome and encouraged. We'll have options for hikers and runners. We look forward to meeting you!

Sally Mitchell is the founder of Body Flows Yoga Retreats, leading yoga and wellness retreats in stunning locations around the world. Most well known for monthly Yoga, Hiking Wine Tasting retreats for all levels in Sonoma, California Wine Country, Sally is passionate about teaching and sharing with others the practices that have helped her to heal her own body and discover a path of transformation and greater self awareness. Sally is an E-RYT200 Yoga Teacher, Massage Therapist, ChiRunning Instructor and Integrative Health Coach.


My two sisters and I went to a yoga retreat with Sally in March 2019 at Westerbeke ranch. The whole weekend was welcoming and relaxing. I enjoyed the amount of yoga we did each day. Sally’s style worked well for all levels, from beginners to advanced yogis. She encouraged connections across the group, and provided opportunities for everyone to get to know one another. The wine tastings she hosted each night have us a chance to relax and taste excellent wine. She adjusted the schedule as needed to meet the needs of the group. Westerbeke Ranch was delightful, with cute rustic cabins, beautiful grounds, and delicious food. Thank you for a rejuvenating weekend! I’ll definitely register for more yoga retreats with Body Flows.

this was an amazing trip with a fun yoga instructor and a great group of women. I would do another body flows yoga retreat anytime
