A six-hour, hands-on intensive for Seasons of Sound graduates who want to create beautiful one-to-one sound sessions with metal singing bowls placed on the body.
Sunday, November 1, 2026, 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Soul Strong Yoga in Round Rock, Texas. The cohort size is capped at 10, so everyone gives and receives every technique with direct feedback.
Many of you have asked us for the next step: how to work with one on one with metal singing bowls.
The Art of the Private Session is a six-hour intensive on creating a one-to-one sound session that feels effortless for the client and confident for you. When a singing bowl rests on the belly, the back or the palms, the client feels the sound as much as they hear it. It is intimate, grounding, and deeply relaxing, and it is the experience clients ask for again and again.
Over the course of the day, we walk through how to welcome someone and gather what you need to know, how to set up a space that feels safe and comfortable, where and how to place bowls, how to pace and sequence the session so it has a natural arc, and how to weave in breathwork, meditation, and mudra so the sound has somewhere to land.
You will spend most of the day giving and receiving. By the end, you will have a complete 60-minute private session you can offer right away and an intake and consent process you trust.
This is a fully clothed, instrument-based practice. There is no massage or hands-on adjustment. We work with sound, stillness, and presence.
Welcoming the client: intake and consent. How to open a private session so the client feels seen and at ease. A simple intake conversation and consent script you can use right away, including how to ask about comfort with bowls on the body and how to offer an off body option for anyone who prefers it.
Creating a comfortable environment: Room setup, lighting, temperature, props and bolstering for lying on the back, front or side. Small details that let a client fully let go: blankets, eye pillows, how you move around the space and how you speak.
Choosing your bowl: Why we use metal singing bowls for on body placement and why crystal bowls stay off the body. How weight, size and tone shape the experience. You will work with a range of bowls throughout the day so you can feel the differences for yourself.
Bowl placement: Where bowls settle naturally and comfortably: belly, chest, upper back, sacrum, thighs, palms and feet. How to stabilize a bowl on a person, how to strike and rim a bowl that is resting on someone, and how to keep the volume and warmth pleasant. When to adapt or skip a placement based on what the client shares with you.
Pacing and sequencing: How to build a session with a beginning, middle, and end. How long to hold each placement, how to move between placements without breaking the mood, and where off-body playing and layering fit in between.
Breathwork, meditation and mudra: Simple ways to open and close a session so the sound has a container: a short breath practice, a guided settling meditation, and a mudra the client can hold as the bowls play.
Structuring a session: Putting it all together into a complete session you can offer the following week. You'll be provided with done-for-you sequences that you'll practice with Jessica during the training to build your confidence.
Experiential learning: Practice rounds with a partner, with feedback from Jessica on placement, pacing, and presence.

Q.: Is this a certification? A.: It is a certificate of completion for a six-hour specialty intensive, the same format as our Advanced Layering Intensive. It is not a standalone practitioner certification. Your Sound Healing Certification is the foundation; this builds on it.
Q.:Do I need to be a massage therapist? A.: No. This is a fully clothed, instrument-based practice with no hands-on adjustment. As with any private offering, you are responsible for understanding the rules in your own state and for carrying appropriate liability coverage.
Q.: Can I use crystal bowls on the body? A.: We do not teach crystal bowl placement on the body. Crystal bowls are fragile and unstable on a person. This intensive is metal bowls only.
Will I receive a session I can offer right away? Yes. The manual includes the full 60-minute session outline, the intake conversation, and the consent script.
Q.: Is there anything I should tell you before the training? A.:If there is anything that would make lying on the floor or receiving a bowl on your body uncomfortable, let us know at registration, and we will adapt the practice rounds for you. You are always welcome to give only.
All bowls, strikers, cushions, blankets, bolsters and props for use during the training. Instruments are available for purchase after the training.
