This Egyptian experience was life-changing. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with my family, creating memories with them and gaining brothers and sisters across the country. I especially enjoyed experiencing this with my two children (5yrs & 22yrs). My daughter still speaks about her visit to the Nubian Village and beams with a sense of pride when she remembers that ppl referred to her as a Nubian Princess. She even lost her tooth during our visit with them The theme for me was persistence. I recall attempting to go to the top of the pyramid and wanting to give up. When I stopped on the platform, I remembered our tour guide, Tarek’s, explanation on how the pyramid was built. They had to persevere despite obstacles or the length of time. In addition, as much as I wanted to stop to “show” my children that sometimes the road gets tough (even for mom) but taking a pause to regroup and pushing on anyway to complete the challenge with them was priceless. The smiles on their face to see that I did in fact make it to the top with them is something I will always cherish. The sites of royalty and breathtaking natural beauty was another highlight for me. It was beautiful to see people that looked like me and in their natural beauty. I did not feel my color or felt invisible. When they greeted us to say “Welcome home!” those two words said just enough to say you belong here. I came home with a renewed sense of purpose, determination, and perseverance to complete any task. I especially loved the idea that there was no thinking involved in terms of what we were doing/eating, all our accommodations, and excursions were all taken care of. We simply had to show up. Amazing experience and I can’t wait for Ghana 2024. Thank you Jay and Freddie for this genius, life-changing opportunity from Maximum Impact Travel and Urban Intellectuals! The culture NEEDS this!

This trip was a trip of a lifetime!! We started as strangers and ended as family. We looked out for each other. It was so amazing. The trip omg!! Words really cannot describe it. It is so much packed in, but in a good day that you can digest it. We went to the Pyramids, cruise on the Nile, went to Luxor, visited temples, Nubian Village, and so much more. To hear the history of Egypt and to see the ancient Pharaoh's features with Black features!! This trip was educational, and sooo much fun!! I definitely recommend to everyone to go. Urban Intellectuals travel has a great thing here and I can't wait to travel with them again!

This was my husband and I, first trip to Africa and it exceeded our expectations. We never been on a group trip before, but Maximum Impact/Urban Intellectuals makes sure you have everything you need as soon as you arrive in the airport. After a day of traveling, we were happy to check into a beautiful hotel with gorgeous views and great food. The trip was coordinated with a highly experienced tour guide named Tarek. He ensured our experiences and excursions were educational and entertaining. He was very passionate about his craft and only provided us with excellence. We visited Cairo and saw the Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, and went to the Egyptian Museum. We cruised the Nile to Luxor and the Nile East Bank, Luxor West Bank, Valley of the Kings, Edfu / Kom Ombo, Aswan and the Nubian Village, and Abu Simel. The flow of the trip was perfectly planned out leaving us stress free. All we had to do was be there. My husband and I are still processing the enriching and sometimes emotional experience. My favorite part of the trip was visiting Luxor and Aswan/Nubian Village. Here were towns of more black Egyptians that looks like us. We were also able to visit a family in the village that opened their home to us with open arms. Also, the group of beautiful people that went on the trip with us made the experience in Africa even more meaningful. The only disappointment of this trip was not seeing us (African Americans) on the tour. Our group was always the black representation in the different places we visited. It was almost always 95% white people there learning about us. If they are there, why aren’t we?? For one packaged price broken up into payments, we were able to experience the trip of a lifetime without all the worry of planning from across the ocean. If it’s in your budget, invest in yourself, and go learn the truth. If it's not, figure out what you need to do, invest in yourself and go learn the truth. You will not regret it!! We are already planning our next trip to Africa. Every year going forward, we will be in Africa learning about our culture. Thank you Maximum Impact/Urban Intellectuals for a life changing experience.

OUTSTANDING! WORTH DOING AGAIN! I LOVED IT!! PEACEFUL & SAFE. Our hosts and leaders were what we needed...knowledgeable, passionate, respectful, AND HELPFUL. We were taken care of so efficiently...no fuss and no drama, but a lot of fun! Jay Cameron knows his stuff! Do yourself a favor. Check this out and sign up. This is the education that we never got. YES, you are worth it. You will be able to help educate others. I am telling family and friends about this experience and encouraging them to do it. I hope to bring some with me on my next trip, hopefully in 2023. It feels good to KNOW the truth. And feel FREE.

I had the absolute privilege of joining the Gateway Experience Ghana, July 2022. There's only one word to describe it - TRANSFORMATIVE. Jay has done the work and created a truly phenomenal travel experience. Because of his efforts, I connected with the ancestors, with Ghanaians, with Africans and with myself. I fell in love with Ghana and am now planning to move there. Jay and his local team - the incomparable Morris and the loyal Ernest - took care of every detail and provided a trip that was informative, enjoyable and safe. I don't think I could have that experience with any other tour operator. From now on, I will only travel with Jay and Maximum Impact when I visit any place in Africa. In fact, my group and I are planning to travel together again to Tanzania next year. It's just that deep. If you love Black people and Blackness, then love yourself by booking a trip with Maximum Impact!

Customer service exceptional! What a pleasure to work with Maximum Impact Travel for this trip. They are thorough and very attentive as there are several steps to traveling to Ghana; the entire Maximum Impact team made the booking process seamless with EASY-to-follow instructions. All questions I had were answered promptly and professionally. And, oh my goodness, once you get to Ghana, you will be warmly received by the Maximum Impact team and treated like a V.I.P. Accommodations are clean and super-comfortable and offer all amenities. Don’t hesitate booking the trip if you’re traveling solo as I was. It’s a trip of a lifetime where you will meet wonderful traveling companions, tour the country with knowledgeable guides and wish that the trip was longer. I LOVED IT! A powerful and stirring cultural tour that also includes fun-loving activities. Outstanding job by Maximum Impact. I’m already planning my next tour with you.
