You will be given a Soul Name which is the day of the week you were born and a Spirit name which is your character. It is customary to wear white -- but not mandatory. Days 5 & 6 - Donkor Nsuo (Slave River) at Assin Manso.. You may want to roll up your pants legs or wear shorts if you get in the river. This is where the African captives were allowed to bathe before the three week trek to the slave dungeons through the forest and rough terrain while being bound in chains and naked from head to toe.

This was my first international trip so I really didn’t know what to expect but when I tell you THE MAXIMUM IMPACT TRAVELS TEAM set the bar high. I was introduced to excellence. From the beginning zoom calls on what to expect. To my returning flight back on US soil. MIT did not miss a beat. I felt safe and valued. I was kept abreast of what was next on schedule. I had an amazing time. The trip was well planned out with just enough activities each day. Visiting three famous cities in different areas of Egypt each day really allowed us to get an understanding of the culture. No to mention our accomodations were 5 star with 3 meals included daily.

When this trip was introduced to us we were told that it is not a vacation, but an experience. I didn’t do any of my typical “research” about the Egypt as I usually do before going on vacation because I wanted to go & take it all in first hand and I’m so happy I did it that way. It was so much more than I could have ever expected. I can only imagine how much work was put in by the Maximum Impact team to make sure this would be a memorable experience. From the accommodations to the food, modes of travel, museums, temples and the Nubian village we were immersed into the culture and history. Everyone was so welcoming and takes pride in their heritage. Safety was never an issue or concern. I know this took a team, but special thanks to Jay for his vision and to Prince for helping me see all of the history, pride and determination of the people to not let anything be removed or forgotten. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! This is definitely a trip that I will share with my friends and family while encouraging them to go and experience it for themselves because it has changed me and that transformation has to take place first hand. I had the absolute privilege of joining the Gateway Experience Ghana, July 2022. There's only one word to describe it - TRANSFORMATIVE. Jay has done the work and created a truly phenomenal travel experience. Because of his efforts, I connected with the ancestors, with Ghanaians, with Africans and with myself. I fell in love with Ghana and am now planning to move there. Jay and his local team - the incomparable Morris and the loyal Ernest - took care of every detail and provided a trip that was informative, enjoyable and safe. I don't think I could have that experience with any other tour operator. From now on, I will only travel with Jay and Maximum Impact when I visit any place in Africa. In fact, my group and I are planning to travel together again to Tanzania next year. It's just that deep. They are thorough and very attentive as there are several steps to traveling to Ghana; the entire Maximum Impact team made the booking process seamless with EASY-to-follow instructions. All questions I had were answered promptly and professionally. And, oh my goodness, once you get to Ghana, you will be warmly received by the Maximum Impact team and treated like a V.I.P.
