Rare Method™ offers a one-of-a-kind approach to mind and movement practices rooted in flow yoga and informed by Somatic Experiencing principles. Guided by founder Randelle Lusk, this integrative practice supports grounded embodiment, emotional resiliency and nervous system regulation as it weaves together cathartic release, somatic healing techniques, dynamic breathwork, and intentional pause.

This Year's Theme: Emotional Intelligence

At Haven 2026, we’re exploring Emotional Intelligence—not only as a theory, but as a felt, embodied experience that shapes how we lead, relate, and live.

This theme will thread through our group workshops, somatic practices, and guided self-inquiry. Together, we’ll explore the ways we perceive ourselves, express our truth, navigate relationships, manage stress, and make aligned decisions.

Emotional Intelligence becomes a tool for real-time awareness—helping us respond rather than react, set boundaries with clarity, and stay connected to what matters most.

Prior to arrival each guest will complete and EQi 2.0 Assessment which we will debrief and dive into together. 

This retreat offers space to grow your emotional fluency and reconnect with the inner intelligence that lives in your body, breath, and presence.

Just beyond the vibrant energy of Sayulita, a winding cobblestone road leads to Playa Escondida—Sayulita’s hidden beach. Nestled between swaying palms and a quartz-kissed boulder on the shoreline, you’ll find La Joya Resort.

This family-run boutique hotel and retreat space is a true gem of the Riviera Nayarit. With elegant accommodations, wellness-focused amenities—including a sauna, cold plunge, whirlpool, and outdoor fitness area—La Joya invites you to slow down and reconnect: to yourself, to nature, and to the present moment.

La Joya is the home to Tekuamana Restaurant & Bar by Chef Jorge Miramontes. Each meal served offers an experience of sensory indulgence. The menu is inspired by Mexican tradition and elevated by sourcing organis, local and wild ingredients. Cooked without seed oils, the kitchen instead opts for ghee, avocado oil and rendered fat. The result is the most healthful and distinctive culinary experience in the area.

Guests will be invited to preselect their meals from Tekuamana’s seasonal menu ahead of the retreat, helping the team prepare a personalized and nourishing experience. There will still be flexibility to make adjustments upon arrival if needed.

Fly into Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) from most major North American cities. Westjet offers direct flights from Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto. Suggested arrival time is no later than 3pm and departure no earlier than 230pm, local time. 

From there you're a 45 minute drive by Uber, hired car or by bus. We can connect you!

Kindly note, ground transfers are not included but can be an arranged by La Joya, via Randelle. This is to account for guests wanting to arrive early or depart late, as pricing will vary depending on volume. Arrangements will be made closer to our travel date. 

A note about Uber: Ubers are available for pickup just a short walk outside PVR Airport property. However, Ubers are not available for return from Sayulita to PVR.

A lot of time and care is put into planning these retreats and therefore all deposit payments are 100% non-refundable and non-transferable. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable in accordance with the deposit and instalment timeline.

All prices are in CAD. Payment plans may be selected and adjusted by request.

A note about tipping

Tipping plays an important role in the Mexican tourism industry, and we’re committed to honoring the incredible team at La Joya who care for us so generously throughout our stay. To ensure this process is simple and seamless, a gratuity fee of $285 CAD will be invoiced by Rare Method and collected via e-transfer prior to checkout. This amount will be distributed to the La Joya staff on your behalf.

If you'd like to leave additional tips or gratuities for excursions or treatments, those can be arranged directly at the front desk at the end of your stay.
