THE LANGUAGE OF ASANA
Anatomy, Energetics & Intelligent Cueing
What makes a yoga cue truly meaningful?
In this workshop, we’ll explore how a deeper understanding of anatomy, energetics and the purpose of asana can transform the way we teach.
We’ll look closely at selected foundational postures: exploring what is happening in the body, what the posture is inviting energetically, and why we might practice it in the first place. From there, we’ll translate this understanding into clear, intelligent and purposeful language.
Rather than simply memorising alignment instructions, we’ll learn to understand the why behind a posture — and use that understanding to offer cues that help each student connect with and experience the asana in a way that makes sense for their own body.
We’ll explore:
The anatomy and mechanics of selected key asanas
The energetic qualities and intentions behind them
How anatomy and energetics inform the way we teach
How to turn complex information into simple, effective language
How to cue with clarity, intention and intelligence
How to give students enough information to explore the posture rather than simply telling them what to do
A workshop for yoga teachers who want to move beyond “place your foot here, move your arm there” and develop a more embodied, thoughtful and intuitive approach to teaching & for practitioners that want to deepen their understanding to bring their asana practice on the next level.
The Workshop will take place 12:00-18:00 on the 12th of December.
Workshop will be held in German, if no English speakers are going to participate. If so, we will mix!
