Wonderful trip. Incredibly talented artisans. Great introduction to Guatemala and its people. Good food, comfortable accommodations. Best guides - so knowledgeable, very responsive to needs.

The trip was exceptional. Andres is an extraordinary guide, incredibly knowledgeable about his country, a very able translator, and very caring and interested in the welfare of his travelers. Hillary was his faithful sidekick and capable assistant, filling in the slack where needed. Both were very affable and fun to be with, yet serious when necessary. The visits with artists were very special and personal. The hands-on activities were fun and informative. I think the itinerary needs some tweaking as our days were quite ambitious, with little down time. Activities tended to take longer than planned. The early morning wake ups for early flights on top of long, busy days, despite efforts to give us time to adjust, wore us down. Unfortunately, my husband and I decided to leave the trip about halfway through, when we returned to Lima (and sea level) enroute to Cuzco. I had a cough which was getting worse; he had a lot of back pain from an earlier injury. We both were having difficulty with the altitude. We were sorry to miss the second half of the trip, but we don't regret our decision to leave the group.
