With a guide you will walk along the sights of Paramaribo such as the Synagogue and the Mosque, the Basilica and the Fort Zeelandia complex. (No visit to the museum). You will also visit the market where fresh vegetables, fruit, fish, herbs and more are sold. At the market we’ll buy fresh vegetables and fruit needed for the workshop.

Highlights
The tour starts at 07.30AM from the entrance of Hotel Royal. The first 3 hours we will walk through the historical Paramaribo. On this tour you will get to know the beautiful Paramaribo. We will visit the highlights of Paramaribo such as; the Jewish synagogue and the mosque fraternally next to each other, the colonial building of the free Negress Elisabeth Samson, the wooden cathedral, Palmentuin, Fort Zeelandia, and the Independence Square and Presidential Palace are also on the program. During this tour the guide will tell you extensively about the history of Suriname. You will not only hear the distant past, but also the recent history since independence gives you a good picture of Paramaribo. You will also learn about the architecture of the colonial buildings. Waterfront is also extensively discussed and the central market. At the market we will buy our fresh vegetables and fruit for the cooking workshop.
