About your trip

Do you want to learn how to paddle in tidal areas and experience 'moving water'? Oban is home to tidal venues. This day is aimed at paddlers new to tidal paddling

This course is suited to Intermediate paddlers new to tidal skills.

  • Understanding flow and eddy lines

  • Strokes and techniques to paddle in flow

  • Reading the water

  • Safety and rescues in moving water.

Coaching team

I've teamed up with Phil de Iongh from Wild Isles Sea Kayaking. Both myself and Phil are Advanced Water sea kayak leaders and coaches.

Suitability

Paddlers with no or little experience of paddling in moving water on the sea. River paddlers wanting to take their skills onto the sea. You should be comfortable paddling in wind and waves up to Force 3/4. A roll is helpful but not essential.
