My wife and I enjoyed the 2-night, 3-day, private tour from Uyuni to San Pedro de Atacama with Estrella del Sur.  Moises was our Guide and he was amazing too.

Moises is very knowledgeable, kind and caring.  He helped my wife with altitude ilness symptoms and resulting anxiety in an expertly, gentle manner.  Went out of his way to make sure that we enjoyed all aspects of the 3-day trip.  And he is into photography so he took many beautiful photos of us, the changing landscapes and exceptional sunsets.

Thank you Estrella del Sur and Guide Moises for an unforgettably fun time!

Such a nice trip! We had the chance to be with Javier at the beginning and Leon at the end and both of them were amazing! The tour itself is intense but so rewarding! Intense in a way that you are busy. The landscapes are amazing, driving offroad is a unique experience. 
Everything is well organised. You feel out of time and it is wonderful.

Our guide Enrique was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and very helpful.  Our driver was excellent.   The food was good and the sites were fantastic.   Would recommend this company.

Not a great experience!

- I emailed in advance to confirm the pick up from the airport. However, we were left waiting for 40 mins as the tour company "forgot" we were arriving. We were the very last people from a flight of over 150 people to be picked up.
- Very little information provided on what we needed to take with us e.g. water and we had to force it out of the staff.
- The driver gave commentary entirely in Spanish even though he spoke basic English. In our tour group of 6 only 2 spoke Spanish. Thankfully the Spanish couple translated key information into English for us and French for the other couple.
- The driver was going through the motions and not really interested in our group. One of our group was quite ill for a day but the driver didn't even ask how they were!

Overall, a very bad experience with the tour company and only the stunning sights of Salar de Uyuni saved the day.

El tour por el salar de Uyuni y la reserva Eduardo Avaroa fueron increíbles. La agencia Estrella del Sur muy profesionales, hicieron que nuestra experiencia fuera increíble. Recomiendo la guianza con el conductor Geovanni, quien nos ayudó y fue muy amable, atento y servicial. Recomiendo 100% viajar con esta agencia.

While still a fun trip and opportunity to see Uyuni and transfer to San Pedro, our guide was not helpful as more than a driver. It was difficult to get any information about the Salar from him. Many of us on the trip were not fluent  Spanish speakers, our driver made no effort to speak slowly or clearly when we did ask questions in Spanish. There was a wide range of things he should’ve and could have told us from facts about the solar to expectations about hotels, including whether or not we would have things like heat, toilet paper, Wi-Fi, etc. They were things that we needed for the border crossing that he didn’t inform us about until our last night in the salar when we didn’t have Wi-Fi. Nice enough guy, but he didn’t provide us any services as an actual guide. 

If Rolando is your guide, avoid this tour at all costs!!!

This was, without a doubt, the worst tour experience we've ever had.

Guide's Communication: Non-existent. He barely spoke, and when he did, it was unhelpful. Asking about a mountain's name? The response: "mountain." Inquiring about local wildlife? "None, it's a desert," he said—right after we saw llamas.

Driving Experience: Painfully slow. He drove at 5 km/h across the Salar to "protect his car," turning a scenic drive into a four-hour crawl. On paved roads, he inexplicably drove at 30 km/h, claiming, "we have time."

Lack of Consideration: Never asked if anyone needed a restroom break or informed us about travel times between stops.

Distracted Driving: He spent most of the journey scrolling through Facebook on his phone while driving.

Luggage Issues: Tried to convince us to leave our luggage behind because he didn't want to load it onto the roof.

Dismissive Attitude: Any question was met with a condescending "calma," accompanied by a patronising hand gesture.

Itinerary Changes: He altered the planned itinerary without consultation and refused to take us to certain destinations, citing delays — delays caused by his own actions.

This tour was a complete disappointment. We felt neglected, uninformed, and disrespected throughout. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere for a more professional and enjoyable experience.

Una experiencia increíble en el tour de Uyuni. Los paisajes y alrededores son impresionantes. La organización y el itinerario fueron excelentes.
Sin embargo, el hotel kachi de uyuni, la estancia no fue lo que esperaba, la atención no estuvo a la altura de lo que uno podría desear tras un largo día.
Hotel Malku cueva muy correcto.
Quisiera agradecer especialmente a Simeón, nuestro guía. Desde el primer momento me sentí segura, es un experto en su campo, excelente conocimiento del área y su habilidad para conducir.
Agradecer también a Celia y Raúl por la organización y saber reaccionar frente al cierre de la frontera de Hito cajón.
Sería ideal que las autoridades Chilenas/ Bolivianas mejoraran y ofrecieran un trato más amable, ya que la experiencia de cruzar la frontera debería ser más fluida y menos estresante.

Tour Express de 3 dias y 2 noches  salida de San pedro

Penoso. El guía no quería parar en un solo sitio q le pedimos para hacer dos fotos. No interactuaba con el grupo. El segundo y tercer día fuimos a una velocidad de 40 y el tercer día nos dimos cuenta, porque el guía nos dejó tirados una hora, q era que le faltaba aceite a una corona. Y tuvimos q esperarlo una hora tiraos en un pueblo. El último día se durmió, y tuvimos q buscarlo por un hotel q no había nadie. Salimos 45 minutos tarde. Eso ocasionó que una persona del grupo no pudiese Vera la laguna verde y blanca. Porq luego metía mucha prisa, pero a la hora d ir por carretera nos adelantaba todo el mundo.

Si esto fuese poco lo peor el trato de la señora Celia, poco más nos dijo q era normal. No empatizó en ningún momento con nosotros.

Creo que esto fuese gravísimo y cuatro personas del grupo nos sentimos totalmente estafados. Encima de quedarse el conductor dormido, salió de mal humor. Y la señorita Celia no valoró nada de lo que dijimos. 

Cuando lleguemos a España mandaremos al organismo correspondiente, report del trato recibido u de que nos sentimos totalmente estafados. El último día quitando termas 40 minutos y comida, todo lo demás fue carretera a 40 km. Vergonzoso.

Nos hubiese gustado que un responsable por lo menos nos hubiese escuchado, la señora Celia poco más nos colgó, porque tenía otro cliente.

Se supone que Celia es la que tiene que velar para que los clientes salgan satisfechos.

Nosotros lo que os decimos, totalmente estafados, tanto por la señorita Celia así como el trato dispensado.

No recomiendo para nada este tour con esta responsable, no obstante denunciaré a donde haga falta. Le mandamos las fotos y vídeos, pero se ve que no tienen personal q conozcan el salar.

Insisto, penoso trato, penosa excursión.

Una gran experiencia. Giovanni, nuestro conductor y guía, excepcional. Preciosos lugares. El único problema el mal de altura. Nos faltó información antes del tour

Tour de 4 dias  y 3 noches  Empieza y termina en San pedro

Empiezo por lo bueno. El Salar de Uyuni es un sitio incomparable que hay que visitar sí o sí. También el resto del altiplano de Bolivia. La gente de Bolivia tiene que sentirse orgullosa de la maravilla que tienen pero.... Se debería cuidar mucho mejor este sitio y explotarlo mejor. El pueblo de Uyuni parece un pueblo abandonado, la estación de autobuses da pena verla. Llegan autobuses a las 7 de la mañana y no hay nada abierto, un frio tremendo en la propia estación y además los baños cerrados. En el resto de sitios a visitar, hay que pagar por los baños en TODOS los sitios y encima, los baños son lamentables. Si no tienes BOBs en efectivo, no puedes mear.

En cuanto al tour propiamente dicho hay que decir que los coches son viejos, los 2 asientos de atrás son muy incómodos. La calefacción no calienta y es bastante necesaria sobre todo el último día en el que hay que levantarse a las 4 de la mañana. 

En cuanto a los alojamientos, la gente muy voluntariosa y amable, pero en ninguno hay calefacción. En el primero de ellos, no salía agua ni caliente ni fría del grifo de la ducha. No había ni un triste perchero para colgar los abrigos. En el segundo alojamiento, hacía aún más frio aunque sí había agua caliente, pero sólo hubo electricidad durante 4 horas. Lo peor de todo fue la fiesta que montaron en la tienda de comestibles que había junto al alojamiento. Estuvieron con la música a todo volumen hasta las 4 de la mañana, no puedo confirmar que nuestros chóferes estuvieran en ella, pero es posible. 

La comida, sencilla pero no estaba mal. Lamentablemente tengo que decir que a pesar de haber avisado durante el proceso de reserva, a través de whatsapp varias veces y en el momento presencial de pagar de que una persona era celíaca, los conductores no lo sabían y en los alojamientos tuve que volver a decirlo en las dos ocasiones. Aunque lo explicaba, no tenían ni idea de qué es lo que podía comer y qué no. Esto lo aviso para las personas que necesitan comer sin gluten. 

Los conductores eran amables y nos indicaron muy bien cómo hacer las fotos chulas en Uyuni pero apenas explicaban nada.

La sensación final ha sido la de haber visto un sitio único pero muy cansado y con un frío que no desapareció hasta que llegamos a Chile. 

Creo que con un poco de inversión las cosas se pueden hacer mejor tanto para los bolivianos como par los turistas y que no sea todo tan incómodo (sólo algo de calefacción en los alojamientos ayudaría bastante, aunque haya que pagar más).

El guía, el servicio y el vehículo muy bien.
Los hoteles no tienen unas condiciones mínimas para las temperaturas que teníamos (llegamos a -15 grados centígrados)
Sin calefacción ni agua caliente ...

A viagem foi muito boa, o motorista era super simpático e dedicado, as acomodações eram básicas, mas a comida era boa. Acabámos por ir com outra empresa, já que as empresas de turismo acabam por partilhar serviço, mas tudo OK.

Hemos pasado momentos maravillosos y en buena compañía. La comida, el transporte y el alojamiento muy confortable. Los guías expertos y de confianza. Gracias por esta fantastica experiencia 

The trips was good organised. The 3 days 2 nights trips was a great tour. There are beautiful landscapes and I enjoyed it. The driver can only speak Spanish although I booked with English tour. Anyway it was great.

It was a great time. The driver/guide was really helpful and always care to be sure we were fine. The food was well prepared, fresh and tasty. The accomodations were clean and had a nice shower with super hot water. The only point is that was too cold and there was no heather in the bedrooms, but there were blankets. 

I travelled with my boyfriend and we both had a really great time. Good food, amazing landscapes, great driver. Accomodation was ok but it's true that in general hot water didn't work, but it was common in most hotels. I would definetely repeat this experience with Estrella del Sur :)

Nossa experiência com o tour foi ótima. Nosso guia Sami foi muito atencioso, gentil, fazia comidas ótimas e sempre disposto a melhorar nossa experiência no Salar. Recomendo!

My friends and I had a great time in the trip. The accomodations are very simple, with very little comfort, but they were clean. We got a private room with bathroom, which made all the difference and I would say is a must. Our guide, Raul, was amazing and contributed a lot to the success and fun of the trip (5 stars for him!!!!) He was helpful, cordial, and really nice. The food is very simple but in the most part was ok, but the quantity is not much. Breakfast food was not so great - could be muchh better
The cars are comfortable, but not for 6 people. We were very lucky and our tour only had 5 people, which made the long hours in the car much more bearable. 
Also, we were lucky to be paired with great 2 strangers. If the people on the tour with you are not nice or have a good attitude, the whole trip can be affected. I would definitely recommend the private tour if possible - accomodations are better and you dont have to squeeze all in one car

Tuvimos una experiencia espectacular, Giovanny, nuestro guía, nos ayudó de todas las formas a disfrutar de cada espacio, paisaje y lugar que visitamos. 
El salar hermoso, el atardecer espectacular con una copa de vino y snacks que nos dio Giovanny. Pudimos tomar fotografías con efecto espejo y Giovanny también nos ayudó a hacer tomas muy lindas y divertidas.
Nuestro plan incluía habitación privada con baño y valió completamente la pena el pago, pues viendo comentarios de otras agencias nuestra estancia en cada hostal fue muy cómoda, no sentimos frío y eran habitaciones muy limpias. 
Una preocupación que teníamos era sobre la comida, pero toda la alimentación durante el tour fue muy rica y saludable. 
Es un viaje que se debe realizar, lamentablemente las camaras no hacen justicia a lo que se ve con los ojos.
Nos fuimos completamente enamorados de Bolivia, gracias Giovanny por ayudarnos a vivir esta hermosa experiencia.

Gostamos muito da experiência, o salar é muito lindo! Mas se for em agosto, vá preparado para o frio.  Tinha banho quente e muitos cobertores em todos os hoteis. Comida era boa e simples. Nosso guia, Simione (Sami) era excelente, paciente, prestativo e explicava tudo para nós. A Empresa deu suporte necessário em todos os aspectos. E leve papel higiênico para os banheiros ao longo das paradas.

We had great time meeting wonderful young people. The driver was experienced. The food was also very good. The agency met us at 6 in the morning  at the bus station, which was very kind.
The only problem was the very very cold hostel for the second night - we had to be prepared for minus temperatures in the rooms and additional payment for using hot water, without any toilet paper and soap. The agency should notify the travellers in advance for these  more severe circumstances.
