Trataka is the ancient practice of gazing into a flame until the eyes become still—and something quieter begins to see.
For one month, we’ll practice Trataka together three mornings a week, using the candle flame as a doorway into meditation, concentration, and the mysterious territory of inner vision.
A Course in Miracles speaks about learning to see differently—to look beyond the way we ordinarily perceive and witness the altar of light within. There is another way of seeing. And when we turn our attention toward that inner light, it heals the way we see ourselves and the world.
We’ll explore Trataka alongside meditations for strengthening the third eye, visualization, and inner perception. Each practice will begin with about 10 minutes of pranayama—Kapalabhati, Bhastrika, and alternate-nostril breathing—to clear the mind and prepare us to sit.
And of course, we’re doing a mantra. Which one? It’s a surprise!
