We had a fantastic trip to Costa Rica, thanks Il Viaggio Travel! Our agent, Agostina, was incredibly helpful at every step. Communication during planning was excellent, and she and I went back and forth multiple times as we hammered out an itinerary for our group. And when we unfortunately had to make some last-minute alterations to our trip (changing arrival and shortening the trip by a few days, along with some of the itinerary), Agostina worked with us to not only make things as easy as possible but also suggesting ways to alter tours to allow us to experience as much as possible from our original itinerary. We were still able to visit La Fortuna, Monteverde (Ziplining and hanging bridges, amazing!), Quepos (catamaran snorkeling tour), and Uvita, which was amazing!
Our driver Allan was also incredible, drove us everywhere we needed to go (some very long trips as well!), spoke excellent English, and made many helpful suggestions along the way. He was even able to give or find us options for alternative activities once we were at our locations, based on how we were feeling at the time or how long drives had turned out to be. An example was finding a local waterfall near Uvita (Catarata Uvita), where we were able to swim and even slide down the waterfall, as well as see a small butterfly garden with Blue Morpho Mariposas. He was also able to give us tons of information on local animals and sites, pointing out various animals and stopping the van to see them longer, as well as providing great suggestions for places to eat all throughout the trip. It was so important for us to have someone who really knows the area!
One note I would make about trip planning would be to watch travel times between sites. We found that the google maps drive time estimates were off by a lot several times, mostly due to traffic. The drives from Monteverde to Uvita, and then also Uvita to San Jose, turned out to be nearly twice as long as expected due to traffic. Fortunately, Allan often had more realistic estimates, so in some cases we were able to shuffle some plans to avoid being rushed.

The lodging, tours, food and guide were great and accessible accommodations worked well for me. We enjoyed having leisure time built in so we could add a tour or relax at the beach club!
Next trip we won’t plan so much driving as traffic was significant.

We had an amazing trip, Agostina was amazing at putting together our itinerary and coping with all my anxieties and questions. She was there to help when we had a small hotel hiccup and solved it quickly. Martin our driver was fabulous. He knew so much about the country and wildlife, so much more than just a driver. The activities were perfect for us. Travelling with a wheelchair and reduced mobility was made so much easier with the experience of Il Viaggio.

We have just returned back to the UK from a 7 night trip. What an incredible experience.
il Viaggio Travel - 100% recommend using this company for your guided tour / driver. They specialise in accessible travel ♿️ Booking with il Viaggio took the stress away and they organised everything. All of our transportation (10 seater minibus), hotels, trips/tours and restaurants were planned for us. From being collected from the airport, to being dropped at our final destination of the holiday, Emmanuel (driver/guide) stayed with us from start to finish. He was friendly, kind and so knowledgeable about his country and wildlife. We wouldn’t have spotted much without him, he is like a walking encyclopedia.
We were lucky enough to see 2/3 toe sloths, viper snakes, leaf ants, howler monkeys, dart frogs, toucans, owls, iguanas, Jesus Christ lizards, and lots more.
We spent the last 3 days relaxing at margaritaville as that’s what suited us best after 4 jam packed days. The sunsets on playa flamingo beach are stunning! All of the hotel staff were amazing, plenty of sun beds etc and the choice of food and drink was great. Short walk to bars / restaurants and small marina where we saw sting rays.
