We both visited Peru for 13 days from April 13, 2024 through April 25, 2024 covering Lima (at sea level), Arequipa (7,700 feet high), Colca Canyon (12,000 feet), Puno (12,500 feet), Cusco (11,000 feet), Sacred Valley (7,000 feet to 10,000 feet) and of course Machu Picchu (8,000 feet) in that order so that we first got used to Altitude at Arequipa. On our own, we only booked the hotels and the flights from Lima to Arequipa and from Cusco to Lima. Machu Travel Peru took care of our entire land travel and sightseeing visits. An English-speaking guide and a driver promptly received us at the airports and train stations; they picked us up at our hotels promptly and dropped us off after sight-seeing. They also dropped us back at airports and train stations well in time. The English-speaking guides Rosario at Lima (our score = 9 out of 10), Isabelle at Arequipa & Colca Canyon (9 out of 10), Perci and Pablo at Puno (8 out of 10) and Adolfo at Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu (10 out of 10) showed and explained to us all the sight-seeing places listed in our itinerary. They were very friendly and helpful. The drivers Fernando (1 & 2) and Sait at Lima, Felipe for our long travel from Arequipa to Colca Canyon and then to Puno, and Roger at Cusco and Sacred Valley were excellent in driving and always courteous. Their large SUV vehicles were well maintained and kept clean! The 10.5-hour train journey from Puno to Cusco that Machu Travel Peru booked for us was outstanding; we thoroughly enjoyed the food, drinks, service, music, dancing, fashion shows etc. The Andean scenery on the way was spectacular. That train journey was well worth it! Even the 2-way Vistadome train journeys between Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu (1.5 hour each way) were comfortable and enjoyable. Since we both are vegetarians, Mach Travel Peru had arranged lunch (on 7 days) for us at very good restaurants that offered plenty of vegetarian options. Only the fixed menu lunch at Taquile Inland was not up to that mark. Flor with Commercial department did a great job in preparing our detailed itinerary and Frank with Operation executed our itinerary well with the right teams. The Tour was very well organized with very interesting sites. The guides were fantastic! Food and accommodations were very good. Only the Bus tour to Puno was challenging because the guide (not his fault) had too many tourists to take care of 42!!!! that’s too many he needed an assistant.. Best Things: 1) The parts that were directly managed by Machu Travel, were top notch. I left my Shwal and cap in the car they provided the first day. When I informed them, they returned it to me on my last day in Cusco. It was really nice of them 2) Timeliness of each part Could have been better: 1) Please review your other 3rd party partners for some day trips. For example, for Cusco-Puno, we were tagged with Tourismo Mer group. Their bus broke down and the guides didn't communicate with us properly about our luggage. They didn't even inform Machu Travels. I informed Machu travel and they really stayed with us over WhatssApp and updated us about the whole situation 2) The Rainbow Mountain tour operators were also very average. Please review them

This trip was a great experience from start to finish. All of our hotels were clean, comfortable, and within walking distance to popular areas. The tour guides were kind, knowledgeable and made each experience memorable. Transportation services were excellent and we felt very safe our entire trip. I would highly recommend Machu Travel to anyone booking a vacation in Peru!
