This was my fifth trip with Neotropical Nature and Birding to Ecuador. Fabulous guide and co-owner, Santiago Salazar has shown me over 650 species of birds. But it is not just about birds, I have been able to observe and photograph many plants, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles as well. The accommodations are always top notch, food is excedllent and he is a very careful and safe driver. I plan to use this company in the future...my wife said tomorrow is not too soon...

Ricardo was excellant. Both as company and as a bird guide. We had been to th eAtlantic Forest as well as Iguazu before so we concentrated on the less visable birds that needed both a good ear and patience. Accomodatations in Itatiaia wer, as you already know, somewhat dark but the staff was always helpful. The coast, on the other hand, is probably worth a visit even if ne is not a birder. We hope to contact you in the future for another trip in the region.

We had a very nice time. We were going to Ecuador for a wedding and I was able to get Gaby to plan a private trip on the Western Andean Slopes with Santiago before the Wedding and a tour with Diego for a few days around Cuenca after the wedding. Everything was taken care of for us except for the few days we were in Cuenca for the wedding. Communication was great through the planning phase and both guides did their very best while we were in Ecuador to share their beautiful country with us. My wife and I felt like we were treated with kindness and we saw a lot of birds we had never seen before at a pace that was comfortable for us. Both guides were able to make necessary changes due to weather conditions that made us appreciate their local knowledge. We would have wasted a lot of time if we had tried to do it all on our own. Both guides were excellent drivers as well as naturalists. We appreciated their experience and passion for the wildlife they knew so well, but maybe even more important than that was the way they treated the people at the lodges, parks and birding sites we visited. It was easy to see they were well respected, and that made us feel welcome everywhere we went. I highly recommend Neotropical Birding and Nature Tours. They made this trip go smoothly and I felt like our tourist dollars were going to local people who have the will to conserve and protect the natural resources, especially the unique flora and fauna of Ecuador, and that is something that is important to us when we travel. The food was excellent. The people were amazing. The accommodation's were good. I took close to 9000 photos in Ecuador and I hope I get a chance to go with them somewhere in South America again.

Always amazing! Really beautiful. Great accommodations, amazing food. Amazing birds. I’ve been on several trips with Neotropical. I choose them because not only are the trips and guiding awesome, but I can always trust Santiago and Gaby to take care of me with my food allergies, and asthma issues. They repeatedly check in with the lodges and restaurants to make sure everything is in order. I never have to worry with them about my health or safety. They are the best!
