We spent ten days in the Pantanal region and a couple more at Iguazu Falls and it was amazing! In the Pantanal we stayed at a couple of lodges and two hotels, with comfortable rooms and very good food. But you spend little time in your rooms when there is incredible wildlife to see and enjoy. We saw macaws and many other birds, three tapirs one evening, giant otters, and jaguars every day from the boats, including one kill of a caiman, WOW!!!! The drivers and boatmen were great and got us in the right position for some photographic memories we will never forget. In our time at Iguazu Falls we were able to see it from both the Brazil and Argentina viewpoints, and from afternoon one day and morning the next before the crowds arrived, just beautiful! And through our entire journey Santiago and Neotropical took good care of us, made sure nothing was lacking, and brought forth so much knowledge and information about the wildlife and environment we were experiencing and enjoying. The booking and payment were simple and easy and communications throughout helped tie up the amazing trip that everyone should experience, thankyou again Santiago and Gaby!

We just completed a wildlife and bird watching tour with NeoTropical Nature and Birding and Trips and it was fantastic. We visited the Pantanal Region of Brazil with a follow-on trip to Foz do Iguacu. All of the in-country travel logistics were well planned and executed smoothly as we travelled between multiple locations. Our primary guide and host for the trip was Santiago Salazar -- he met us at the airport on our arrival in Sao Paulo and said goodbye to us at the airport 15 days later. He was with us every step of the way. Santiago engaged local drivers and guides as we moved from location to location who were equally knowledgeable and operated first rate equipment, safely. Our primary focus for much of the trip was bird watching and photography. I photographed over 180 species in 14 days. Santiago could hear, spot and identify birds amazingly well, and then was patient with us as we asked over and over what species that was. We also focused 3 days for jaguar chasing and had some amazing experiences with Santiago and our local boat guide Helner. Quietly slipping up a backwater tributary of the Cuiaba River it was amazing how close we could get to many species of birds, giant otters, jaguar, caymans, etc. Santiago is passionate about the special ecosystems and the birds and mammals and reptiles that live within those ecosystems. And equally passionate about how our species interact with those ecosystems. His knowledge about these systems and the creatures that live within them was amazing. He showed us that these are special places that we need to cherish and protect. This was our first ecotour and I highly recommend Santiago and NeoTropical Nature and Birding.

Excellent guide once again in Gabriel who has an encyclopaedic knowledge of birds & plant life. Superb walk through the cloud forest & I will be back to try to spot that elusive Spectacled Bear - huge thank you

INCREDIBLE day in Mindo with Santiago! Santiago was extremely kind, personable, and knowledgeable - he could identify hummingbirds in a split second! We saw all different varieties of hummingbirds and tanagers. It was a day we will always remember!

I had a spectacular outing with Santiago. Everything about it was perfect from where we went to his deep knowledge of the area, conservation efforts past and present, the fauna and flora and the passion that he brought to finding as many birds and mammals as possible. Everything was well-organized and the sites we went to were wonderful. He know so much about the area and what to potentially see at each site. The communication about booking the trip was excellent. If/when I go back to Ecuador, I will definitely book with them again and I am even looking into going on trips with them in other countries. Thank you for a wonderful day!!
