About Our Private Estate

Ebbio Estate is perfectly situated in the heart of the rolling hills of Tuscany.

Settled on a restored 13th century farm, beautifully transformed in a tranquil place for retreats and holidays. Nestled inside an evergreen forest, Ebbio sits on an extinct volcano that was sacred to the Etruscans, and overlooks the medieval walled town of Monteriggioni. In addition to being a destination for wellness retreats, Ebbio is now dedicated to the organic cultivation of olive trees, herbs, grapes, and vegetables - all used in the thoughtful preparation of daily vegetarian meals.

The space itself offers a fully equipped indoor yoga shala, outdoor patio, and nine beautifully designed bedrooms - many with breathtaking views overlooking the rolling hills of Siena. There are plenty of calm, communal spaces to relax, sunbathe, read and roam.

Our magical retreat home offers quiet in the midst of Tuscany's rich history and provides the perfect backdrop for deep quiet, connection and inspiration.

Getting There

Our stunning venue is located 10 km from Siena and 45 km Florence. The address for our private villa is: Strada del Gallinaio, 9, Monteriggioni, Siena, Italy 53035.

FLYING TO ITALY

We recommend flying into Pisa, Florence or Rome. From each of these locations, you can catch the train to Siena followed by a 25 minute taxi to the venue. You can also choose travel to Ebbio by driving, public transportation, or private driver.

DRIVING FROM THE AIRPORT

You can rent cars directly at the Florence or Rome airport and drive to Ebbio. Ebbio has safe and dedicated parking.

TAKING THE TRAIN FROM THE AIRPORT

Alternatively, you may take a train to one of the nearby stations. The nearest is “Monteriggioni – Castellina Scalo”. It is a 10 minute drive from the property.

TAXIS AND PRIVATE CARS

From Monteriggioni – Castellina Scalo:

There are NO taxis at the Monteriggioni – Castellina Scalo station, however. If you choose this option, please contact us to arrange a transport from the station to Ebbio (cost around €20).

From Siena:

The next nearest train station is Siena, which is about 20 minutes away. From the Siena station you can take a city taxi (cost around €35-40). You may also call Radio Taxi Siena directly at +39 0577 49222.

From Florence:

If you choose to take a private car from Florence, it is typically around €200. We recommend booking directly, but the team at Ebbio is happy to provide contacts.

NAVIGATION FOR DRIVERS:

If you decide to drive, navigation apps work perfectly if you search “Ebbio Tuscany” or use address “Strada del Gallinaio, 9, Monteriggioni, SI 53035”. When you arrive at the bottom of the hill for Ebbio, there is a long parking lot on the right side. The entrance is between two brick walls, but there is plenty of space to pass with a car. Cars can drive up to the Ebbio front door to unload luggage and then return to the parking lot.

Heather

Heather has been teaching yoga since 2002 and founded and owns Revel Yoga. Her journey began with a single class that transformed her perspective and left her feeling at home within- herself. This experience fueled her passion for yoga as a steady, grounding force during life's ups and downs.

Heather’s mission is to make yoga fun, approachable, and welcoming for everyone. Her approach to class focuses on alignment, transitions, and building a connection to yourself—not on achieving Instagram-worthy poses. Yoga, for Heather, is about showing up for your mind, body, and breath, creating a space to grow in wisdom, peace, and community.

Exploring The Local Region

Hiking:

The Via Francigena is the ancient path that has connected Canterbury and Rome since the Middle Ages. Nowadays it remains a pilgrimage path, as part of the Way of Saint James (Camino de Santiago) but also presents a different way to discover Tuscany. Take a journey through time in close contact with the ancient surroundings and local shops. Ebbio is just 800 metres away from the starting point of the route from Monteriggioni to Siena; the route from Monteriggioni to San Gimignano starts just over 1 km away.

Art & History:

Lovers of history, culture, museums and art will be delighted with Ebbio’s location, less than an hour from the seven UNESCO heritage sites in Tuscany. Monteriggioni is within walking distance (1.8km), and the famously beautiful cities of Siena (15km) and Florence (45km) are easily reachable by car. The nearby medieval towns of San Gimignano (25km) and Volterra (40km) are like open-air museums, while Pisa and its Leaning Tower are located 100km away. Other gems of World Heritage in the area include San Galgano (39km) famous for the prophecy of the sword in the stone, Arezzo (85km) where there is a beautiful fresco by Piero della Francesca, Valdorcia (38km), Pienza (85km), and Colle Val d’Elsa (10km).

Wine Paths & A Panoramic Drive:

The rolling green hills of the Chianti Valley make for an enchanting road trip by car or Vespa. Wine and cheese tastings are offered in many of the properties along the Tuscan roads, and the journey is complemented by panoramic views of vineyards and fields of sunflowers. Castellina in Chianti (15km), Radda in Chianti (25km) and Greve in Chianti (34km) are all nearby, while longer trips take visitors to Montalcino (known for Brunello wine), Montepulciano (known for Nobile di Montepulciano) and Bolgheri (known for Sassicaia).

Thermal Spas:

Tuscany’s volcanic geology has left it with the highest concentration of thermal springs in Italy. Nestled in green settings or antique settings, restorative waters can be found all around: nearby sites include Bagni Vignone, (40km) a medieval village built around a pool with a natural hot spring, Rapolano Terme (45km), and Bagni San Filippo (80km).
