About this trip

Join our 'Heal Your Heart' activist retreat in the stunning Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica.

🪸 Curated by Unruly Travel, led by Alexandra Krim, and hosted by Finca Ganadito.

WHAT: This unruly group trip will take participants into the lush biodiversity hotspot of the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. Arriving by boat or plane, getting to the eco farm is all part of the adventure. Join us to decompress, ground, and rejuvenate throughout the week through meaningful workshops and discussions tailored for activists; yoga classes and mindful movement for somatic release; sea turtle conservation & rewilding work; adventures to the surrounding nature preserves & Corcovado National Park; and more. All of our excursions will be fueled by deliciously crafted vegan meals made on site.

WHO: This trip is for vegans, LGBTQ+ activists, animal rescuers, grassroots organizers or anyone who has ever felt over burdened, burnt out, or heavy-hearted navigating an often complicated world.

𓆉 September is sea turtle hatching season in Osa, offering a once-in-a-lifetime chance to participate in effective conservation work. Started by locals who were former poachers, this program allows visitors to witness and experience the entire lifecycle of turtles in real time as they support established efforts that give sea turtles a fighting chance as the climate changes. (Read our reviews below to learn about the impact of this experience!)

WHERE: Located in the lush Osa Peninsula, Finca Ganadito is an ideal safe place to land and recharge. The locally-owned eco-minded farm sits next to an old growth forest and stunning raw coastline. The property is also a botanical haven growing herbs, veggies and other plants that are cultivated into our fresh farm-to-table meals. Surrounded by wildlife and like minded community, it's the ideal container to let yourself be held and heard while enjoying the surrounding jungle.

With over 10 years of traveling as an ethical vegan, Alexandra combines her insight into the heaviness we can experience being vegan in a non-vegan world with her healing skills and passion to help people feel seen, supported, and empowered. A traveler since 15, Alexandra is fluent in both English and Spanish and lives in Puerto Rico.

In a hands-on workshop we'll learn how to make coconut milk, soap, and bowls. Be a kid and let your inner artists play.

After a short break we'll reconvene to begin our Flowered Future Collage Workshop. Bring your magazines to the table as everyone integrates what they've learned, selecting images, pictures, and messages that shape our collective future. Once everyone has made their collage we'll combine them, bringing our greater vision together and capturing our work in photos.

Savor a rich coconut curry for dinner, harvested by the group. After dinner travelers are free to visit the beach one last time, hangout with their new friends & comrades, and get ready to depart the next morning.
