Join me for this 6-day Teacher’s Training immersion and learn the foundational embodied principles of the dynamic and powerful practice of Vinyasa Flow Yoga!
Vinyasa, which means linking movement with breath, moves the body with fluidity, intention, and rhythm. It is an exciting practice that has many physical benefits, including:
It does all that and so much more! Unfortunately, when done improperly, it can also cause injury.
This is because Vinyasa Flow moves at a relatively fast pace. As a result, it is easy to collapse, force, or push through the poses, which causes compression and strain. Doing these repetitive movements without structural awareness has proven to be problematic, and often teachers may compromise detailed alignment so as not to break the rhythm or flow.
One does not have to be sacrificed for the other!
I believe it is possible to teach a well-rounded flow class that is passionate, exciting, and inspiring while still organizing the sequence and cueing in a way that is structured, mindful, technical, and, most importantly, safe.
When coupled with attention to physiological detail, Vinyasa Flow Yoga can be an empowering, in-depth, and stable moving meditation that benefits the whole body, steady the mind, and ignites the Spirit within!
Please join me and learn how to teach (and practice) Vinyasa Flow Yoga in a more integrative way that benefits the whole body.
Together, through practice, lecture and demonstration, we’ll explore how the various components of the body (muscles, bones, joints, and connective tissue) can be aligned appropriately for your structure and shape and how mindful sequencing, intelligent cueing, and postural integrity is essential to avoid overstretching, compression, or injury for both yourself and your students.
This immersion will look at the arc of a vinyasa practice that includes Sun Salutations, Standing Poses, Hip Openers, Arm Balances, Backbends, Forward Bends, Yin, Inversion, and Restoratives postures and how to approach practicing and teaching with more mindfulness, skill, playfulness, and heart.
During this immersion, we will explore:
This immersion is for most levels of students wanting to learn more about the physical practice of asana and to have access to my particular form of guidance and support, and for any teachers interested in deepening their own practice, as well as understanding the mechanics of how I organize, pace and instruct the physical aspects of my vinyasa flow classes.
We can barely wait to welcome you back for community, delicious vegan food, hiking, and – of course – Class! We’ve cut our attendance back by 10 people for each retreat to allow more space in the yoga room.
The health and safety of our guests, staff are paramount in these (still) uncertain times. To attend any retreat, we require that all guests provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 + booster if the first vaccine was over 6 months ago. Our staff will also follow this protocol, and we encourage you to get vaccinated if possible.
We will not require that guests wear masks indoors (bedrooms and yoga room), but we honor and respect each individual's need to feel safe while on the property. If you have any hesitation to join us for this retreat, we recommend you wait until one of our future retreats in 2022/2023.
Most beds in shared bedrooms have 3 feet between each bed. Yoga mats might be only 1 foot spaced out. We will keep windows and doors open during class to allow for proper circulation. Meals will be served outdoors.
We appreciate your cooperation and your support 🤎We look forward to being in community together as safely as possible.
Ali Lafayette will be our private chef for the weekend, preparing delicious vegan and organic meals with fresh ingredients.
Ali is currently working as a private chef and health-based retreat chef, specializing in simple, nutritious, and delicious food designed to nurture and energize clients undergoing trainings and other forms of self-optimization.
Her specialties are accommodating and adapting for a multitude of dietary restrictions, allergies, and health concerns, including but not limited to; vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, sugar-free, celiac, low-acid, clean eating, whole-30, ketogenic, and Ayurvedic.
Ali’s passion for food as a health and nutrition tool has led her to become a certified nutritionist, and she has several years of experience developing meal prep programs for clients suffering from auto-immune disorders and other food-related health issues.
Ali’s personal food philosophy focuses on the idea that food is fuel and medicine for the body, but that healthy food can also be decadent and delicious.
“Food should be Delicious: Good food can be an incredible sensory experience! Just because it's good for your body doesn't mean it has to be boring and bland.
Food Should be Simple: Real ingredients, and not too many of them. Local and Seasonal; humane and organic. All things you can pronounce and recognize.
Food Should be Healthy: Food is fuel and medicine for our body, it keeps us running at the top of our potential. Low to zero sugars, simple carbohydrates, and no processed chemical ingredients.”
📍 Address to the property will be given the week before the retreat starts.
👉 Substance-free Retreat
A substance-free environment is one in which all guests agree to keep their space free from substances at all times. Substances are defined to include alcohol, cigarettes, other smoking materials, and illicit and illegal drugs. Prescribed mediations excluded.
👉 Proof of vaccination is required + proof of booster if the first vaccine is over 6 months
👉 Close shared spaces
This is a very communal retreat with shared bedrooms and shared bathrooms. Some beds may only be 3 feet apart from each other. If for any reason, you do not feel safe being in such close quarters with other guests due to concerns for Covid-19/Delta & Omicron variant, it's best not to join this trip and wait until a time that feels best for you. We will be doing many more of these next year.
👉 Shared rooms and bathrooms
Some rooms and bathrooms may be co-ed depending on sign-ups. We do our best to manage this and contact you for permission before placing you in a co-ed bedroom. This rarely happens, but it's worth giving you the heads up in case we contact you. We are not able to control bathrooms not being co-ed unless your room has a private bathroom.
👉Classes will be recorded and available to our online community
In the spirit of making my work accessible, affordable, and building community, especially during this time of uncertainty, this retreat will also be available virtually so our community can experience the classes in the comfort and safety of their home.
By participating in this retreat, you understand that you might be in the camera frame during class. We position the camera in the back corner of the room
There will be plenty of time between sessions to simply relax and connect with yourself, each other, and the land.
Perched on 10 acres, atop a remote valley with beautiful views of the Santa Monica mountains, you can find yourself chilling in the jacuzzi or cedar sauna, or taking a swim in the small lap pool. There are also many places for quiet time like the sun patios or cozy up to the large living room fireplace in the 1920’s Spanish Mission-style house.
If you feel like an adventure on your own, there are gorgeous hiking trails nearby and the Pacific Ocean is only 20 minutes away. Or take a drive into town where you can visit all the local shops and artisans.
Due to the exclusive offering of this retreat to Seane's mail list and the lead time to fill your spot. It makes it difficult for us to react to last-minute cancellations after the eblast has been sent out.

In addition, in the event of fires in Topanga or COVID-19, we may need to reschedule this retreat. It is in our best interest to refund you in this type of situation. We cannot be responsible for any losses with airfare, transportation, or any other additional costs incurred during the planning of your trip.
