About your trip

Voli Voli is our favorite resort in Fiji.  We have been coming here for years.  The people are great, the food outstanding, the resort grounds luxurious, and the activities are awe inspiring.  There is really nothing not to like at this home away from home.

The Food

One of the best reasons to choose Voli Voli over anything else is the food.  Our groups in the past have generally started every meal with cameras, taking pictures of what they were served.  The taste matches the presentation!

There is a set menu of items that are available daily, but it is hard to get to as there are also daily specials listed on the board that you will probably only see once a trip.  Choices!  Lots of teaming up to try everything usually occurs.

The Diving

The Bligh waters in Fiji are some of the most colorful reefs in the world.  A typical boat ride is 15-40 minutes.  When you get out to see you dive in "bommies".  Basically, that a a reef that comes up from the depths to near the surface.  Just under the boat it is packed with life.

The water is warm in March/April, as in the southern hemisphere you are just coming off summer!  Typically 80F.  These months have some of the best visibility as well.  There can be currents!  However, you can always hide on the "down current" side of the bommie.  The big schools of fish like to face into the current though, so the adventurous can be rewarded.

Activities

Kayaks, snorkeling from the beach, and stand up paddle boards are available for free use. Dolphin tours, waterfall hikes, village tours - all can be organized by reception or by Sonny, who is at dinner every night to answer questions about full day tours.  Happy hour from 3-5 at the pool bar is popular.  Charter fishing trips are available. The message hut - private ocean view -  sometimes gets booked out, so organize that early in your stay!  If you love the ocean, we highly recommend the full day snorkeling tour to the outer reefs, guided, to some of the healthiest and dense coral gardens in the world.  Fantastic snorkeling in 3-20ft of water miles for shore on isolated ocean pinnacles.

Logistics

There are nonstop flights to Nadi (airport code NAN) on Fiji Airways from Dallas, SFO, LAX, and Honolulu.  Prices are reasonable as well.  Remember that you will "lose" a day on the way to Fiji, so pay attention to when your plane lands.  This is why the trip starts on a Monday.  Chances are you will arrive very early in the am.  You get your day back when you fly home, often arriving earlier on the same day you fly!

The trip to the resort is a fairly long 3 hour air conditioned private car or bus ride.  It is beautiful country that you pass through though, so it becomes part of the adventure.
