About this trip

Bitterroot Backpacking is hosting a free 2.5 mi hike up Waterworks Hill Thursdays in May! Our focus: Identifying wildflowers and discussing their ecological features!

We will spend about 1 hour hiking up and down Waterworks Hill. The hill is about 600 ft elevation gain, but we probably won't make it all the way up there!

Please be aware: the beginning of the hike is considered steep by people who don't hike often. We will take our time up this first hill and point out wildflowers along the way.

The hike is meant for anyone! There is no plan for our pace. Our main goal is to appreciate wildflowers.

Group size will be 5-12 people.

It is recommended that you wear comfortable, layered hiking clothing if it's a significantly cold day that day.

We will cancel the hike if it is storming/thunder storming/very windy, but if its drizzling or lightly snowing, we will still hike.

Please plan to carry water and snacks. There are no places to refill and filter water along the trail.

There are porta-potties at the trailhead, but none along the trail.

Dogs are welcome but they must be leashed! There is a temporary leash requirement up on the hill by the flowers.

Look for the group standing around the trailhead sign at the start time!
