About this trip
Spend 10 days on the beautiful, sunny, and off-the-beaten-track island of Mafia, just off the coast of Tanzania. This slice of paradise is still relatively undeveloped and provides a great base to explore rural island life. Our main purpose on this expedition will be to collect data on Whale Sharks – gentle giants that grow up to 20 meters in length! – to contribute to monitoring and conservation efforts. To do this, you’ll be swimming in the water right by them – although you can also collect data from the boat if you don’t want to snorkel.
It’s hard to put into words how special this expedition is! The combination of the location, the activities, and spending time with these giants of the ocean creates a unique experience that you’ll cherish forever.
