The good: The lodge is very well maintained, rooms are nice, 24/7 electricity, warm shower (only at night?). Wifi for 10USD per device for your entire stay. Trails are easy to follow. Food is pretty good, mostly western style. Owner was very helpful with arranging transport and manager Stefano is polite and nice. The lesser part: Our guide Diego did not gave us a welcome feeling. At arrival nobody came to us to explain anything, so we just joined some other tourist at a table for lunch. Later Diego came to say hello and explain some basics, but the only info about the activities was “a long walk after breakfast” for instance, and we constantly had to ask what to wear and bring.
During the activities Diego does not explain much, but we mostly need to be silent. Some info is incorrect (for instance about snakes/venom). We saw some pretty unique animals and Diego does have a lot of knowledge about the area and history.
I would recommend the lodge, even though it’s not a cheap option, but the guide you get really can make a difference in how you experience this area.

Amazing immersion into the jungle of Yarina and the Napo river. Olivio was a wonderful guide, food was great, and each excursion was filled with innumerable wildlife sightings, learning about the jungle lifestyle and ecosystem, and plenty of time for independent exploration. Transfers and coordination of events were seamless and easy. Highly recommend.

Yarina Ecolodge went above and beyond! We had an amazing time! The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and kind. The food was amazing, exceeding all our expectations. The mosquitos were not too bad. And best of all, our guide Livio was knowledable and above-all enthusiastic. We loved how excited he got about a special bird or monkeys. He also taught us so much about the jungle, the fruits and jungle medicine! Special excursions to visit a local family and to Laguna de Limoncocha were unexpected highlights.

Trip of a lifetime. I was very worried if I was just wasting money heading to the Amazon, but as it’s a bucket list destination for me and I was already in Ecuador I took the chance. I can’t thank Amazon Dolphin Lodge enough for how wonderful they made my trip! First of all, I’m a solo traveller and it happened that I was the only guest booked for the 4day/3night experience. They could have cancelled me. But they didn’t. I had the resort to myself. The resort is beautifully remote, 4 hrs down the Napo River then another hour up a small river. The lagoon it’s situated on is stunning. The amount of wildlife is deafening. Hats off to the chef who cooked incredible three course vegan meals for me. Huge thanks to the guide Diego who never tired and was so excited to show off his ‘office’ to me. And to all the other staff who made me feel at home. We had an evening excursion every night. Morning excursions and mid day treks. I think I had about 2-3hrs of down time in the entire 4 days. The giant otters were the highlight though it is hard to choose. We saw at least 120 species that we were able to identify. I highly recommend Amazon Dolphin Lodge for anyone who wants a real Amazon wildlife experience!

We had a great experience staying at Yarina. The lodge was beautiful, and the deck was great for animal watching (we saw lots of birds and monkeys!). The rooms were awesome, the hammocks on the decks were definitely a plus. Lots of activities that kept us busy, the food was really delicious and they were able to accomodate dietary restrictions, and met lots of great people there. Would definitely recommend staying there.
