Trip Details

Join us for a 3-Day backpacking trip to Ostrander Lake in Yosemite National Park. This is a stunning and serene alpine lake surrounded by thick forests and rugged terrain, offering a peaceful retreat into nature.

This trip is ideal for women who want to experience backpacking without the hassle of logistics and permits. We handle the logistics and permits, so you can simply show up, enjoy and make new outdoorsy friends. And if you're interested in learning about leave no trace or back country skills, there will be plenty of opportunities for this too!

Making a Difference

We're proud to donate 10% of proceeds to Venture Free Foundation, a leading outdoor focused non-profit, providing a wide range of programs that encourage children to learn, grow, and play in the great outdoors. Let's hike for a purpose!

Timing & Transportation

We'll meet at the Ostrander Lake Trailhead on Glacier Point Road at 10am on Friday August 22nd. We suggest carpooling and are happy to help coordinate. Our trip will end at our starting point by Noon on Sunday August 24th.

Please note: campers are responsible for park entrance fees.

Level: Beginner to Intermediate

This trip is for novice to Intermediate backpackers able to hike 6 miles with a 25-lb pack. A training plan will be shared to help you prepare!

Hikes

We’ll begin our hike at ~7000 feet, and climb ~1600 in elevation over ~6 miles to Ostrander Lake. This is a moderate to somewhat challenging hike through dense pine forests and wildflower meadows.

Amenities

None! We’ll be filtering water and “doing our business” in the woods. If you haven’t done this before, no worries, we’ll provide all the info and supplies you’ll need and teach Leave No Trace Principles along the way.
