Hi Monica! We’re truly sorry to hear the experience didn’t meet your expectations. We completely understand how important this trip was for you and how frustrating it can feel when things don’t unfold the way one hoped. Our expeditions follow the rhythm of nature, and sometimes quick decisions or small miscommunications can shape how the day feels — that’s NEVER OUR INTENTION. On that day, the group spent around 30 MINUTES SWIMMING with a large school of mobulas. We also give space for OTHER BOATS to enjoy the encounter in TURNS, as part of our RESPECTFUL approach. After that, the decision to continue searching for other species was made in agreement with the guests onboard. Our guides always check in with the group before moving on, and in your case, WE RECALL that you nodded several times indicating everything was fine. It’s possible some parts of the conversation weren’t clearly heard — if that was the case, we’re truly sorry. For future trips, we warmly encourage you (and any guest) to LET the guide KNOW if you’d like to stay longer in one spot — YOUR VOICE MATTERS, and we want everyone to feel empowered to express what they want during the expedition. Otherwise, we assume that the plan is being enjoyed by all. When the helicopter appeared, it was a signal that larger animals — like BLUE WHALES, PILOT WHALES or ORCAS — might be nearby. That’s why we ventured further: PART OF THE ADVENTURE lies in following these signs and staying OPEN TO WHAT NATURE OFFERS moment to moment. With the dolphins, our guides — trained to interpret animal behavior — chose to observe from the boat out of RESPECT. If the animals are not showing receptive behavior, we avoid entering the water to keep interactions ethical and NON-INVASIVE. As for the photos and videos, of course we’re happy to share them!
