We had a fantastic time at Batsu gardens. The surroundings were beautiful and we were able to enjoy three hours of unspoilt time photographing many different birds and soaking up the peace and beauty of the area. Refreshments were provided and the facilities were clean and appreciated. Wifi was also available to help to identify the birds we saw and we were also able to enjoy lunch in the restaurant close to the gardens before being transported back to our hotel. My only slight criticism is that the website states that transportation was included in the entrance price but we were charged extra to collect and return us to our hotel in the same village. I paid this because I was deeply appreciative of the time we spent at Batsu but it is a little misleading as there was nowhere on the website to request transportation and we had to ask our hotel to telephone to arrange this. I would highly recommend Batsu Gardens - a must if visiting San Gerado de Dota. It certainly made our holiday extra special

Guide was early at the meeting point, very well organised, great to see the quetzals. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I had the entire place to ourselves and it was lovely! It was a nice setup with the feeders for the birds and beautiful scenery all around. It was wonderful getting to see so many different kinds of birds up close and personal and be able to watch them and observe their behaviors while also having the opportunity to photograph them in a natural setting. Very peaceful and a great way to spend the day. Marino came up a little bit after we arrived to restock the feeders and show us around. All in all a great experience and will definitely do it again when we come back to Costa Rica!
