Our drive today will feature a scenic drive from San Francisco along the coast to Monterey. &nbsp;Possible lunch stop in Half Moon Bay then an afternoon arrival in Monterey. &nbsp;Today will feature a relaxing guided history tour and nature walk at Asilomar State Beach, an historic and ecologically diverse beachfront park nestled along the edge of the Pacific. &nbsp;We then check in at the Monterey Marriott Hotel in the heart of downtown Monterey. &nbsp;Group dinner tonight at a highly rated nearby restaurant. Scenic drive from the Bay Area to the Monterey Peninusula

Day 1 - Scenic drive

We enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then visit the excellent Pacific Grove Natural History Museum, a living field guide of the California Central Coast showcasing local native plants, animals, geology and culture. &nbsp;We will enjoy a private visit specially arranged by museum staff before the museum opens to the general public!
 
Next, we head to the Pebble Beach's 17 Mile Drive for a scenic drive along the famous roadway that has been the stuff of legends for decades. &nbsp;We pass some of the most famous golf courses in world, multi-million dollar mansions, and such iconic stops as the Lone Cypress, Bird Rock and some of the best views of the rocky Pacific shoreline. &nbsp;We will stop for siteseeing at the historic Pebble Beach Lodge and then head to the charming enclave of Carmel-by-the-Sea. &nbsp;Enjoy some free time to take in the charming streets, historic inns and cafes and the many shops and galleries that Carmel is famous for.&nbsp;
 
Our final adventure today will be a drive along the coast to Big Sur, the rugged stretch of coastline known for its winding turns, dramatic bridges perched high above seaside cliffs and spectacular views of the often-misty coastline.
 
Return to the hotel in the afternoon then a group dinner at the hotel's excellent restaurant. &nbsp;(B, D)

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, we start our day with a drive to historic Moss Landing, where we will enjoy a scenic cruise on the Elkhorn Slough marine sanctuary. &nbsp;Our journey will be aboard a specially-designed catamaran that is the perfect vessel for enjoying the beauty and scenery of the calm waters of this maritime wilderness. &nbsp;A naturalist will be on board to provide insight into the natural wonders of the slough, known for its abundance of wildlife like otters, sea lions, dozens of native bird species and more!
 
After our maritime adventure, we enjoy lunch in one of Moss Landing's seafood-focused restaurants. &nbsp;We will then be met by a local agricultural tour guide, who will take us on a short tour of nearby farmland in Castroville, known as the "Artichoke Center of the World". &nbsp;We will visit an artichoke farm store where you will have time to shop for all sorts of gourmet artichoke-based treats and snacks.
 
Return to Monterey in the afternoon. &nbsp;Free time for an optional visit to the renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium, relax at the hotel, or enjoy local attractions like Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. &nbsp;Dinner on your own at your choice of the many excellent restaurants in the area. (B, L)

Day 3

We head out this morning on our tour's final day and drive North to Santa Cruz, where we will enjoy a marvelous adventure in the Redwood Forest abord the Roaring Camp Railroad. &nbsp;This picturesque journey through the coastal redwoods offers &nbsp;intimate up-close viewing of one of the best groves of coastal redwoods in California. &nbsp;This delightful rail adventure travels over trestles, through towering redwood groves and up a winding narrow-gauge grade as conductors narrate the history of Roaring Camp, the railroad and the forest. &nbsp;Roaring Camp’s steam engines date from 1890 and are among the oldest and most authentically preserved narrow-gauge steam engines in America.
 
After a group lunch at the train depot, we then re-board our coach for the journey home. &nbsp;Afternoon arrival back in the Bay Area. &nbsp;(B, L) &nbsp;

&nbsp;Day 2: Our first day in Seattle features a City Tour that takes us to many major highlights, including the iconic Space Needle where we take in some of the most amazing views on the West Coast. Then we visit Seattle Center and the Chihuly Art Gallery and Garden, one of best collections of glass art in the world. We head to bustling Pike’s Place Market, home to hundreds of artisans and purveyors of delectable treats from throughout the Northwest. We will also visit Pioneer Square, Seattle’s original neighborhood - now home to quaint shops and historic buildings that help to tell the story of this vibrant City. (B, D)
 
Day 3: Today we enjoy charming towns and evergreen forests east of the City on route to scenic Snoqualmie Falls. This beautiful 270 foot waterfall on the Snoqualmie River is one of Washington State’s most popular natural attractions. Then we head back to Seattle for a visit to the charming waterfront district of Ballard, known for trendy shops, cafes and bars. Here ships and salmon pass through the fascinating Ballard Locks. A highlight is the area’s Scandinavian culture on display at the Nordic Heritage Museum. (B, D)

Seattle - The Emerald City!

Day 4: We make our way today out onto the water for a ferry trip across the Puget Sound, the intricate system of waterways and inlets that carve their way through the region to create the isthmus of Seattle and the natural wonderland of the Olympic Peninsula. We arrive on Bainbridge Island, then a short drive to the town of Poulsbo, known for its Scandinavian heritage and theme, and delicious treats. We continue to the town of Sequim and fantastic views of the waterfront and dramatic backdrop of the Olympic Mountains. (B, D)
 
Day 5: Olympic National Park is one of the country’s most spectacular, and unspoiled National Parks. Today’s adventure will bring us into the heart of this Park that spreads across several ecosystems, from glacier-clad Mt. Olympus to a temperate rainforest and a pristine stretch of fog-shrouded coastline. We will stop at the Visitors Center, then drive to the area’s famous natural formation - Hurricane Ridge. Relax in the afternoon then dinner in Sequim. (B, D)

Majestic beauty of Olympic National Park

Day 6: This morning we head to the nearby port town of Port Townsend for a whale watching adventure in the San Juan Islands. Today’s journey promises to be one of our tour’s highlights as we set sail on a boat trip to some of the best wildlife viewing areas in the region. Our experienced crew will be on a quest to find great spots to view fantastic bird life, marine life, diverse geological formations and hopefully Orca whales, some of nature’s most beautiful animals, in their pristine habitat. We will arrive in picturesque Friday Harbor for lunch and a brief tour of this charming island town before re-boarding our boat for a trip back to the mainland at the harbor town of Anacortes. From there it is a short ride aboard our motorcoach for our base for the last 2 nights of the tour at the Tulalip Casino Resort, just North of Seattle. (B, D)

San Juan Islands Whale Watching trip

Day 7: &nbsp;Journey today to Everett, Washington, for a visit to the phenomenal Boeing Future of Flight Museum at the Boeing Factory. This is a highlight for anyone interested in the history or future of aircraft, which now includes space travel, sustainable fuels, and much more. Free time back in Tulalip to enjoy the resort’s attractions before our final night banquet dinner. (B, D)&nbsp;

On this tour, we will travel from Northern California via motorcoach to Ashland Oregon, where we will be treated to a memorable performance at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival of Shakespeare's enduring tragedy, the classic MacBeth! &nbsp;Our experience will include a behind the scenes presentation about the production from the OSF staff. &nbsp;
 
Our Ashland accommodations will be at the beautiful and newly renovated historic Ashland Springs Hotel, located just steps from the Festival grounds. &nbsp;Also included will be a dinner theater performance of the fun musical comedy, Little Shop of Horrors at the Oregon Cabaret Theater.
 
We will visit some of Southern Oregon's beautiful scenery, including a journey to the nearby quaint town of Jacksonville, near Medford, and a visit to the iconic Harry and David Gift Shop.
 
After Ashland, our tour will continue to the beautiful Northern California Redwood Empire, as we enjoy a scenic coastal drive from Crescent City to Eureka, and then 2 nights in Eureka at the charming Best Western Humboldt Bay Inn. &nbsp;Our siteseeing in Eureka and the nearby area will feature charming town of Ferndale, known for some of the best Victorian Architecture along the North Coast. &nbsp;We will also visit the Humboldt Botanical Garden, the Redwoods National and State Parks, and the area's newest signature attraction, the amazing Redwood Skywalk at the Sequoia Park Zoo! &nbsp;This unique adventure allows visitors to experience the majesty of the redwoods from an entirely new vantage point, as they meander along a series of bridges and platforms 100 feet above the forest &nbsp;ground. &nbsp;Entirely ADA accessible, it is easily reached via a gentle ramp with guiderails. &nbsp;But don't worry if the skywalk isn't for you, as the entire attraction sits above one of the oldest and smallest zoos in California, where hundreds of animals representing about 54 different species can be found on a 7 acre environmentally sensitive site. &nbsp;Easily explored in a short visit, this experience will be one to remember for everyon on our trip!
 
Our adventures continue through the redwoods to Mendocino County and a short stop at a local winery where we can enjoy some of the delicous wines of the region, before returning home.

Ashland, Oregon, and Eureka, California on The Redwood Coast

Our drive Northward will include a lunch stop at the scenic Turtle Bay Park in Redding, and its signature attraction, the striking Sundial Bridge. We will also have time to see the neighboring wildlife museum. &nbsp;&nbsp;Then, we continue north where we will pass by Lake Shasta and then Mt. Shasta, one of the most strikingly beautiful and noteworthy mountains in California. &nbsp;&nbsp;We arrive in Ashland in time for our opening night dinner at the hotel's grand dining room.&nbsp;

After a relaxing morning at the hotel, we will be treated to a presentation about the theater and today's performance by Festival staff. &nbsp;We then enjoy a group lunch nearby followed by a matinee performance of the classic play, MacBeth. &nbsp;Dinner on your own tonight at your choice of the many great restaurants nearby.

&nbsp;Our journey today features an optional tour to Southern Oregon highlights and attractions, such as Ashland’s lovely Lithia Park, the Harry M. David Country Village and Store and in nearby Medford and the historic town of Jacksonville. Also included will be a visit to the famous blue cheese at Rogue Creamery, and an adjacent artisan chocolate store. &nbsp;After time to rest in the afternoon, we head out to an evening performance and dinner at the Oregon Cabaret Theater, and the fun show, Little Shop of Horrors, sure to delight with its comedic storyline and upbeat musical score. &nbsp;

Day 3 - Southern Oregon 

We depart Ashland today and head out on a scenic drive through the Rogue River Forest as we make our way to Northern California’s fantastic Redwood Coast. We stop at one of the Redwood National Park Visitors Centers near Crescent City before arriving in Eureka in time to check in at our hotel in the afternoon and enjoy dinner nearby.&nbsp;

Day 4 - On to the coast

Our day will take us to some of the North Coast redwood parklands’ most beautiful highlights, including the Victorian town of Ferndale. &nbsp;We then head back to Eureka for an excursion to the Eureka Zoo and its spectacular “Redwood Skywalk” – an easily accessed elevated walking experience 100 feet above ground level that offers visitors a unique immersive experience among the area’s majestic redwood trees.
