I would go as far to say, that my 3 weeks at Battle to Conquer, has been some of the best 3 weeks of my life. Battle to Conquer had everything I needed. 2 times Muay Thai training a day, a private room, good protein based food and I've met the best people. The trainers are very fun to be around. You are guaranteed to have a lot of fun while you train. I have done Muay Thai before, but during my stay I learned so much. The workouts consists of a thorough warm-up, bagwork, padwork, technique and stretching. There is sparring every Saturday, but I do wish they would incorporate more sparring in the day to day sessions as well. There is everything you need: pool, ice-bath, excursions, gym, cafe, bar and social life! It has been such a joyful, beautiful and authentic experience I will 100% come back whenever I can.

Booked Battle Conquer again (my second trip there) had a great 9 days wellness experience. I learnt so much more in terms of Muay Thai techniques and it was really sweet that there were a few coaches who remembered me from last year even though I was only there for a very short period of time. I got to try many things for the first time during my second trip there. It was an amazing experience. - Gill Chan Google Reviews April 2025

The Location: Very remote, which is actually a plus—less temptation and more focus. There’s a small supermarket that sells alcohol and a bar just a few minutes’ walk away. There are two camps; I stayed in Camp 1, which houses the restaurant and yoga studios. A big perk of staying there was being able to go straight to your room to freshen up after dinner, instead of waiting for the shuttle back to Camp 2. I enjoyed Camp 1, though I would’ve liked a few more hangout spots during the day. The hammocks at the outdoor yoga studio were often taken by local kids (or possibly staff kids), but when they were free, it was a lovely spot for an afternoon snooze.Camp 2 is where you'll find the pool, massage studio, and gym. Logistically, it’s better, since you don’t need to go back and forth between camps if you want to swim, hang out at the pool, train, etc. The bikes provided were pretty rough—most had faulty brakes, flat tires, or were all hoarded at one camp. I really wished I had my own bike secured so I could move easily between camps. As it was, I often had to plan my day around bike availability. It’s about a 15-minute walk between camps. The Training: There’s a large team of trainers, though it fluctuated day by day. Like many Muay Thai gyms, the warm-up involves 30 minutes of running, which gets boring fast—but you're allowed to do your own stretching instead, which helps. Depending on group size, they set up stations for technique, pad work, bag work, etc. No one likes the bag rounds. Only once did a trainer stay at that station and give us proper drills—simple combos, but it made a huge difference as we had something to focus on. The technique sessions were a bit too short to be useful; just as you were getting into the flow, it was time to rotate. The Stray Dogs & Cats: Honestly, this part made me sad. There were stray animals all over the premises, and while I understand the rule against feeding them, it was still tough to see. Walking between camps or heading to the bar at night, we often ran into feral dogs. It wasn’t always a pleasant experience, and the advice to “walk with a stick” was definitely useful. The People: It was interesting to meet such a mix of guests—some staying for a long weekend, others for half a year. Some came for serious training, while others were more focused on making social connections for their stay outside of Phetchabun. The WhatsApp group was very active, with invites for poker nights and other hangouts. Management was always easy to reach via WhatsApp and super helpful with questions about cleaning, schedules, etc. The Yoga: I didn’t attend many classes, and the afternoon sessions were often canceled due to low turnout. That didn’t bother me personally, but it could be disappointing for guests coming specifically for yoga. That said, a couple of teachers were still happy to go ahead with class, and I even ended up with a private session once, which was lovely. The Food: It got a little repetitive after a while. I had the vegetarian menu, which was mostly rice and tofu twice a day. Only once did they serve noodles—and lots of people, myself included, came back for second and third servings. More variety like that would be amazing! The Massages: Three free massages a week? Incredible. The Wellness schedule was so packed with activities that I sometimes had trouble fitting one in—not the worst problem to have! The massages were good overall, though sometimes the therapists would chat with each other non-stop, which defeated the purpose of relaxation. The Day Trips: The town drop-off was a bit underwhelming, but the night market was fun. The schedule says 17:30–19:30, but in reality, we only got about an hour there due to travel time—which wasn’t nearly enough to explore and try all the food. The monkey feeding trip was kind of depressing; the area was filled with trash, plastic bags, and stray dogs. Overall: I had a great time here. I’m not sure I’d return—not because I didn’t enjoy it, but because I love exploring new places and experiences. But training wise, I really did enjoy this more than other gyms I've been to and I've learned a lot. It was a humbling experience.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful review. We're glad you enjoyed the training, met a great mix of people, and appreciated the structure, support, and unique setting. Your feedback on the layout, bikes, and class flow is noted and valued. We're also happy to hear you found the massages and some private yoga sessions worthwhile. While we understand you may not return simply due to your love of new adventures, we truly appreciate you choosing to train with us and are glad the experience left a lasting impression.
