Ce fut un voyage exceptionnel. Heather et Amanda ont réalisé une planification adéquate des ateliers et des visites à l’extérieur du site. Ils, nous ont fait découvrir un parcours historique autant verbal que visuel adapté à l’art. Les déplacements en autobus étaient sécuritaires et ponctuels grâce à leurs lien entretenu avec les chauffeurs . L’approche de nos guides étaient conviviale : elles ont soutenue la bonne humeur et la cohésion du groupe propice à l’actualisation des ateliers d’aquarelle. Elles ont répondu aux besoins ponctuels avec amabilité. Les hôtes du sites furent très généreux pour nous offrir des services d’hébergement de grandes qualités autant pour la propreté et le confort de la chambre., des repas gastronomiques et des pauses cafés. Tout le personnel de cet établissement furent respectueux et avenants pour nous offrir un séjour adéquat , serein et adapté à nos besoins. Durant tout le séjour, Heater et Amanda furent exceptionnelles , même au-delà de mes attentes. Je suis admirative pour tout le travail de planification et de coordination qu’elles ont réalisé..

The perfect weather in the French Alps , the very comfortable accommodation and the expert tuition made it another memorable trip for me. Both Marie and Heather added to the smooth running of the week. Nothing was too much trouble. One slight negative though was that the workshop had too many attendees. I had not realised that there would be several beginners who not unreasonably want more help with their work. This very much slowed down what we were able to accomplish. ( Perhaps I missed this information on the original booking form). The tutor was very happy for me to go ahead with my sketches for which I was grateful. Having said that, we did not manage to cover sketching food, looking at borders or lettering. As this was mentioned in the workshop handout, I presumed we would at least have some time for it. Secondly, I planned an extra day at the hotel and not to return to Geneva with with group. I had decided to take a bus or whatever was available to the city the following day. I enjoy making my own way and it was perfectly reasonable that I should be able to do this. Marie helpfully recommended a taxi company that I could use to reach Sallanches. I understand that once the workshop had finished , FE had no obligation to me. However, the hotel was unable to provide any information at all, I presume being used to guests hiring a taxi. Perhaps they could consider keeping up to date, either with websites to use for booking or indeed helping guests to make that booking - especially those who do not speak French. It was a great week and the points I mention above did not in any way mar my enjoyment. However, if a review is asked for it is important that it is truthful!

Jackie and Valerie, The venue was unbeatable. I could not believe the view of Aguille Verte from my room and oh the stars. Not enough time for the pool!!. Leave more free time on the programme. The group of people were all very inclusive . Heather and especially Marie did a good job. Valerie ,I missed you as nothing beats an owner on staff. You always seemed to know when spirits flagged [ in the heat] and were there with the required nourishment or painting comfort. Know you must be tired after 25 years but as probably of all the people in this group, I have been to the most French Escapade workshops, I feel I need to state the facts. Indeed I have never travelled with any other Art tour group but now giving it some thought. Must do a count when I get over jet lag of how many F.E.'s. This time I did not reach my painting goals and as Judy is a friend I felt she just got exhausted. You have to put a cap on the number in the group. Know 2 jumped in at the last minute but this made it unworkable for me. 15 was just too many and although Sue ably assisted, I often found myself having to ask her how to rectify my work as Jude was just too busy trying to assist others. Never got to do a satisfactory painitng of Mt Blanc even though we saw it every day!! Know I won't have time to fix my work now I am home caring for declining Hubby again . The trip to Provence was magical. Around every corner was a painting! Our tour directors Sandra and Nat were friendly and organized; Cindy Briggs and Teresa Goesling are amazing artists and teachers. Attending a French Escapade workshop is 5🌟…. from the accommodations to the special villages we visited. We started as strangers but felt like we were family at weeks end!! This was my second Trip with French Escapade and I look forward to joining them again on a future workshop.
