You should arrive to Costa Rica via the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). Once you have cleared customs and collected their bags, a representative of Sentir Costa Rica will be waiting for you outside the terminal and drive then to the hotel near the city of San Jose and will make sure that check in goes smoothly for everyone. Arrival To Costa Rica

Day 1

First things first. Your Sentir Costa Rica Trip Leader will be meeting you for a good morning cup of coffee and quick breakfast, then after, &nbsp;you will all get on your way to Tortuguero National Park. The 3 hour driving part will take you through the Braulio Carrillo National Park, one of the wildest protected areas in the country, and down to the lowlands, passing by very interesting rural communities, pineapple and banana plantations, among a wide variety of other agricultural activities that provide job opportunities to thousands of people. Once arrived, literally to the end of the road and after stretching the legs for a few minutes, the group will board the boat that will take them through the meandering riverways all the way to your hotel in Tortuguero National Park. This boat ride is like a safari on water, although the main goal of this trip is to get to the hotel, there is no way to avoid not stopping when hearing the loud Howler monkeys or spotting a caiman or crocodile on the banks of the river. Once everyone has checked in to the hotel, scouted the grounds and after a nice lunch, it's time to visit Tortuguero village. Formerly founded by actual turtle hunters and loggers, this small community has transformed and made the conservation of natural resources, specially the turtles that have come to nest on this shores for centuries. Now, a lively and vivid little town, their main source of income is tourism. Learn about the natural history of the turtle while visiting the Sea Turtle Conservation Museum, and about the local culture and history as you walk down the beach with your Trip Leader. Return to the hotel right on time to enjoy a drink watching the sunset. Dinner at the hotel restaurant. Hotel TBA

Travel to the Caribbean coast

Day 2

Wildlife is like people, they wake up hungry! Normally for a quite good number of animals and birds, one of the most active parts of the day are mornings, as they are starting to move and fly around looking for their first meal of the day. Taking advantage of that, you will enjoy an amazing and relaxing boat ride along some of the meandering canals in search of colorful birds like toucans, hummingbirds and kingfishers, the super agile Spider monkeys as the swing their way across the canopy of the forest, disturbing the white faced capuchin monkeys as they are trying to eat their breakfast as well. Don’t forget to look down to the water as there could be a Jesus Christ Lizard running across the canal. Return to the hotel to enjoy a nice breakfast and another good cup of coffee. Take some time to relax by the swimming pool, explore the grounds on your own and then join your TL on a nature walk around the gardens and trails of the hotel. This walk will offer a totally different perspective of the forest and a lot more opportunities to see poison dart frogs, woodpeckers, more toucans, the famous Red eye- leave frogs, and a lot of very interesting trees, and flowers. End your day enjoying another sunset by the pool or with a drink by the hotel bar. Dinner at the hotel. &nbsp;Hotel TBA.

Wildlife awakening

Day 3

No rush today, but if you are nature lover or have become one during these few days, your TL can offer an optional morning 45 minute walk around the gardens of the hotel, looking to enjoy all the morning wildlife activity, right before you enjoy your own breakfast and second cup of coffee. Around 9am we say goodbye to all the staff and head back to the city of San Jose, taking the same route as the first day. Lunch will be taken along the way, and will arrive at the hotel around mid afternoon. As the group arrives at the hotel and is safely checked in, it is time to say goodbye to your Trip Leader. Day 4

North Caribbean Coast

This is an all inclusive package to one of the most beautiful places in the world, where you will immerse yourself in nature in a very unique way. Disconnect yourself from everything and reconnect with nature.&nbsp;4 full days and 4 nights, accompanied by a certified professional Trip Leader, with an extensive knowledge of the culture, nature and history not only about Tortuguero but Costa Rica in general. He or she will be available to answer any questions, provide interesting and relevant information, and share their personal perspective of different aspects of life. &nbsp;Treat yourself with the unique opportunity of learning about and up close some of the most interesting hidden secrets of the tropical lowland jungles of the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.

Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), you’ll be transferred to your host hotel near downtown San José. Take time to relax and enjoy the hotel’s amenities, or explore the lively city center. San José offers a blend of colonial architecture, bustling markets, and vibrant street life—a perfect introduction to Costa Rican culture.

Arrival to San Jose, Costa Rica

After an early group breakfast and orientation with your Adventure Leader, begin your journey to the Caribbean coast. Travel to the small port of Goschen, then board a boat to Boca Pacuare, located within the Cariari National Wetlands.Your first hike is an 8 km walk along a protected beach, home to nesting sea turtles. This flat, scenic route offers a symbolic start to your coast-to-coast trek, with the opportunity to dip your feet in the Caribbean Sea. After the hike, return by boat to Goschen, taking in the rich biodiversity of the wetlands. Continue by van to Siquirres, with a cultural stop at banana and pineapple plantations to learn about their significance in Costa Rica’s agricultural economy. Overnight in a comfortable local hotel.

Caribbean Wetlands & Coastal Hike

Following breakfast, drive to the Tsinikicha community, the gateway to the Cabécar Indigenous Territory. Meet your local guide and begin a 10 km hike through sacred mountains, rivers, and waterfalls. This immersive experience offers a rare glimpse into Costa Rica’s largest indigenous group, known for their deep spiritual connection to nature and oral traditions.Arrive at the remote village of Tsiobata, where you’ll spend the night in traditional housing. Share stories, meals, and customs with the community, gaining insight into their way of life and cultural resilience.

Into Cabécar Territory

Wake to the sounds of the rainforest and begin a 4 km hike out of the preserve, crossing the mighty Pacuare River via a local cable car. Mid-morning, embark on a thrilling rafting experience through one of the world’s most scenic rivers.Enjoy a picnic lunch along the riverbank before continuing to Pejibaye, a rural town known for its agricultural heritage and warm hospitality. Overnight in a local guesthouse.

Jungle Crossing & River Adventure

day 4

Start early with a short drive to the trailhead. Today’s hike spans over 18 km, ascending through cloud forest and descending into the picturesque Orosi Valley. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of the Talamanca Mountain Range and Tapantí National Park.After the hike, relax in the thermal waters of Hacienda Orosi and enjoy a traditional lunch. Visit the colonial town of Orosi, home to one of Costa Rica’s oldest churches, and learn about the region’s historical significance during the Spanish colonial period. Overnight in a cozy hotel.

Day 5

Today’s 10 km hike takes you through the Palo Verde Cloud Forest Preserve. Ascend gradually through lush forest trails, then descend to meet your driver for a scenic one-hour drive to Santa María de Dota.En route, stop to enjoy locally brewed coffee and pastries. Santa María is part of the Los Santos region, renowned for its coffee production and strong community traditions. The cooler climate and mountain setting offer a refreshing change of pace.

Cloud Forest & Highland Culture

Day 6

Explore the heart of Costa Rica’s coffee country with a 10 km hike through the Los Santos region. Walk among world-class coffee plantations and learn about the cultivation, harvesting, and cultural importance of the “golden bean.”Meet local farmers and gain insight into how coffee has shaped Costa Rica’s economy, education, and identity. Enjoy breathtaking views and a deeper appreciation for this vital crop.

Coffee Heritage of Los Santos

Day 7

After breakfast and a sunrise coffee, begin your final 15 km hike from Naranjillo to Esquipulas, located at the base of the coastal mountains. Cross streams and waterfalls, and observe the changing vegetation as you approach the Pacific lowlands.Celebrate with fresh fruit and cold drinks before driving to Quepos, a lively beach town with Afro-Caribbean and coastal influences. Check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the beach or pool

Descent to the Pacific

Day 8

Spend the morning exploring Manuel Antonio National Park, a jewel of Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. This compact park is home to an astonishing variety of wildlife, including monkeys, sloths, toucans, and iguanas.Take a short hike to the park’s white sand beach and dip your toes in the Pacific Ocean—completing your coast-to-coast journey. In the evening, return to San José for a farewell dinner featuring traditional Costa Rican music, folk dances, and cuisine, celebrating the rich cultural tapestry of the country.
