Oh boy, birding extravaganza. I knew we were in for some intense birding, but yeah, it was intense! The experiences were so intense and all-day that they exemplified type 2 fun (I am thinking of a certain canyon road in particular). I saw many more species than I ever expected to see. A car mechanical issue threw an almost-literal wrench in day 2 of our Santa Eulalia trip, but Kolibri kindly pivoted to give us alternative plans. Gunnar, Alejandro, and Juan were all fantastic birders who were very patient with those of us who were entirely new to the region's birds. They also dealt with all the chaos of driving, navigating, and getting access to various parks, and were very kind about our pathetic Spanish.

Unfortunately, we didn't get warnings from other travelers until after our trip started and it was too late. This company is neglectful in correspondence, actually tried to put us in danger by providing us with a vehicle that had been in a rollover and had no working seatbelts in the back, no a.c., back tail gate didn't open, muffler hanging down, and later after we had to switch to small car we didn't want, we saw the same roll over vehicle by the side of the road with the hood open. His new clients said it had stalled twice on them. They were only on a day trip and we were on a week long trip in the high Andes on iffy roads. There were several other issues with this company so after the trip I finally contacted the owner who would not refund any of the money we paid him well in advance. Instead he offered us a discount on another trip with him! I have since learned he has done the same to clients in Equador and Peru and has the nickname of Captain Chaos. He is also known for charging top dollar and doing everything "on the cheap". My advice is to steer clear of this guy's company.

We had an excellent trip! The weather caused some difficulties now and then but our guide Juan was unstoppable! We managed to see and hear 570 birdspecies in 2 weeks! A record for us. Our trip to Plataforma was unforgettable. A tough road and bad weather on the morning when we looked for the Scarlet banded Barbet. Thanks to the on going effort of Eugenio (excellent local guide!!) and Juan we managed to find the bird after six hours. Thank you so much1 Also the driver Bryan did a great job and was good company. Thanks to the office it was possible to make a change in the itinary because of a flight change. Thanks again for a wonderful and unforgettable trip

I did not get to go! Had to return home for an emergency. Hope it was great! If any cost savings were had, would love a partial rebate. Looking forward to another time

The itinerary was excellent covering a variety of different places mixing birding and nature with cultural and historical sites. The operator was flexible to adjust our tour start and end points as necessary which was much appreciated.
