Caro, our contact prior to our stay was very professional and helpful. She was prompt to answer all of our questions prior to our trip and provided us with sound advice. We booked the nomad plan and did not regret any single part of it. Caro was kind enough to organize our transportation from our previous accommodation in Mindo to the lodge. It was about six hour and a half trip by car (220. $), but the taxi was very comfortable and Adrian our chauffeur was a very kind and fluent in English. I recommend him especially. however on our trip back we got another driver, and we were extremely disappointed by the car that we were asked to board to return to Quito (140$). It was an old dirty pick up, and our luggage es were put outside at the back of the truck. Though the driver put a tarpaulin on top of our luggage, when we arrived in Quito two of our luggage is were completely soaked and we had to try drying their contents. We felt we had been cheated on that one. Regarding the activities, we warmly recommend the whole program that we had without exception especially with our guide Himan. Having a local guide is a plus in order to discover the culture the fauna and the plants that are typical of the Amazon region. Regarding the accommodation itself, we were in Suite 201 with a private Jacuzzi. It would have been nice if the jacuzzi had been cleaned before our arrival. However, when asked, they immediately did it. Unfortunately, 201 is the suite that you should absolutely avoid for several reasons. First of all, the sign giving the direction to the spa is mistakenly pointing to the private path leading to the back of our bungalow so we had plenty of people who walked around on our terrace at the back of the bungalow. We were even more surprised when one night we got awaken by the noise of a family that was bathing in our jacuzzi! In any case 201 is located very close from the swimming pool and the bar and you hear more of the noise of the music and of the children then of the jungle so ask definitely for another bungalow than the 201. The food was a very nice surprise to us. We enjoyed every meal we had in a buffet style with enough variety. The infrastructure like the swimming pool are very small in comparison with the number of guests on the property. Basically you cannot swim, but just can refresh if they are not too many children playing in the pool.. despite these remarks, we thoroughly enjoyed the discovery of the Amazon and our stay and appreciated very much the kindness of the personal.
