Hi Cameron, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the surf trip did not meet your expectations. The spot we visited is approximately 45 minutes from Puerto Escondido, and from the time we leave until we return, the trip usually lasts around four hours. We understand your point regarding the name “half-day trip” — it may not be the most accurate description since we are normally back before midday, even though the complete outing takes around four hours. We leave very early because this particular beach is often affected by wind quite early in the morning, and conditions can deteriorate considerably as the morning progresses. On the day of your trip, the earlier tide provided the best window for that location. Considering the overall ocean conditions along the coast that morning, our instructors felt this was the best option available, and one of the advantages was that you were able to surf the spot completely uncrowded. The decision to leave when we did was therefore not because the guides wanted to finish the trip early, but rather based on their assessment of the tide, wind, surf conditions, and what they believed would provide the best and safest opportunity that morning. We do appreciate your feedback, particularly regarding how we describe the trip, and we will take it into consideration so that expectations are clearer for future guests.
