Early mornings and late afternoons. Cold weather that required scarves, hats, gloves and – sometimes - long underwear. All worth it to experience and photograph the beauty and unique character of the five national parks, as well as Gremlin Valley State Park. Jeff’s familiarity with the best times to visit the locations enabled our group to capture some truly wonderful images, especially when we utilized our polarizers. There was wide variation in the experience and skill levels among the participants, but Jeff's expertise, patience and guidance every step of the way gave each of us the confidence that we would bring home a lot of keepers. After my experience with Jeff during his Arches and Canyonlands workshop in December 2025, I knew I had to sign up for this "Mighty 5" National Parks of Utah trip, if only to visit Bryce, Capitol Reef and Zion for the first time. Sure happy I did.

Vin, thank you for such a great review—I really appreciate you taking the time to share this. You summed it up perfectly… early mornings, late afternoons, and just enough cold to make you question your life choices—at least until the light hits and it all makes sense again. I’m really glad you mentioned the variety of experience levels in the group. That’s something I always try to be mindful of, making sure everyone feels comfortable and confident, no matter where they are in their photography journey. It’s great to hear that came through. And yes—polarizers for the win on that trip! It was great having you back again after Arches and Canyonlands. That kind of trust means a lot, and I’m really glad you were able to experience Bryce, Capitol Reef, and Zion for the first time. Definitely a solid addition to the list. Looking forward to the next adventure… I’ll try to keep the temperatures slightly more reasonable (no promises). All the best, Jeff

What a great time! I learned so much - better settings for birds in flight, silhouettes, reflections. I love that Jeff will always drop whatever he’s doing if I have a question. With Jeff, it’s about the participant’s success and achieving their goals.

We did the Iceland Ring Road tour with Jeff in January/February, 2025 and it was a amazing tour. Jeff and his driver/guide, Siggi knew all the right places to be at the right time and Jeff was always there with the helpful hints on angles, views, etc., to make our photos a couple notches better. Jeff was very attentive to the group and always there with hints and help, whether it was getting gear on and off the van or making sure we had everything we needed at our accommodations or getting the best shot on our photo stops. This was our second tour with Jeff and I'm sure it will not be our last.

I would like to review our photo workshop the Utah Mighty 5. Led by professional sports photographer Jeff swingman Swinger, we spent 10+ days, enjoying the privilege of experiencing and photographing the national parks of Utah. We started with Zion, then we moved onto Bryce Canyon. Sunrise at Bryce was a brisk 15°F. We froze our tutus , but we got an amazing sunrise for our efforts. Moving on through an amazing land of rock, desolation, rivers, and scarce growth. We extended our visit to Capital Reef. Following, we went onto Canyonlands Moab and Arches. This was an amazing journey that I’ll never forget. Have a hard time going into details with a tour this long, but I’ve got to just say something about the level of guidance help, and teaching provided by our pro, Jeff. Jeff is all about getting the exposure correct in camera. He teaches us composition, offers guidance on lens selections when necessary; explains shots in advance of us taking them. I can’t tell you how much help it was for me being on this tour with a wonderful group and Jeff. they were a total of seven photographers in our 15 passenger van. That included luggage and it was tighter than you would think. It had a lot to do with my large bag which was larger than everyone else😔 10 days together in a van made seven people, fast friends This is not the first time this has happened. Everyone was friendly, funny and considerate. Our group came together with our common photography passions, While experiencing the beauty of these wonderful parks. Jeff does various versions of these photo tours in Utah, not to mention other places, such as monument Valley, Mexican hat, valley of fire, wild horses. Yes, wild horses. This is how I first met. Jeff and I need to get back at see those horses again. A pleasure to write this review. If anyone reading this has the chance I can’t tell you how great this experience was for me. Thank you all and thank you, Jeff.
