Overall it was a great experience. The food was fabulous, the scenery and wildlife were beautiful, and Tara arranged interesting and stimulating excursions for us. She works very hard to accommodate everyone’s needs and requests. Would definitely recommend this trip.

I had a great time on my first yoga retreat. Tara was very thoughtful in planning a wonderful trip. I enjoyed spending time with friends and meeting new ones. -Tracey

Loved my time at the retreat. Lovely views, lovely people and outstanding food. The outings to Taos Pueblo, the gorge and the town were great fun. Loved being at the pueblo again! My Standouts o Sticking my head out the door to smell coffee no matter how early I awoke was a godsend. The coffee and teas and condiments were top-notch. o Every meal was really special. o Enjoyed all the yoga sessions immensely. o Love being surrounded by mountains. Room to Improve o Four women (who all apparently get up to pee at night) sharing a bathroom with a creaky door was not ideal. I missed my solid sleep at night. o Even I can manage an "inside" voice. At times I wished for some quiet time in the house, especially early. Without rugs or curtains, noises and voices seemed to carry and amplify. So for quiet, it was back to the bedroom or outside (maybe I've lived alone too long!). o I know things out West are spread out but we seemed to spend a lot of time on the road to get places and get back.

Food was wonderful as were excursions. Intro circle was meaningful. For the price my sleeping arrangement was below par—uncomfortable bunk bed, steep stairs to second floor bedroom, and no dresser to store clothes.

Hi Cheryl, Thank you for sharing your experience and for giving me the opportunity to learn from this first retreat in Taos. I’m so glad that you found meaning in the practices and enjoyed the food and excursions. It was lovely to have you with us. After sleeping in a similar bed down the hall, I agree with your assessment. However lovely the rest of the house was, the bunk beds were not appropriate for this retreat and did not meet my standards for guest comfort, even without anyone sleeping in the top bunk. I’ll be reaching out to you directly to make amends, and will keep all of your feedback in mind as I search for a new location for our next retreat in New Mexico. One thing is certain: bunk beds are for kids! :P
