This trip was an experience I will never forget. The trip offered very full days to help us understand the rich culture we were experiencing and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. The tour guide's team were attentive and quite personable. We learned about parts of Ghana's history that related to the slave trade which were augmented by the carefully chosen sites we visited. Ghana is such a complicated, dynamic country and this trip has inspired me to learn so much more. The trip offered a balance of history, the arts and shopping. There was a strong theme to our trip of understanding the history of the European and Ghanian slave trade and slavery, which would have been enhanced by our group having time to process. This for me was a crucial missing part that I suggest be integrated into future trips.

We visited sites associated with the transatlantic slave trade as well as Ghanaian culture. It was an incredible trip. Full of many and varied experiences. Always well-supported by Dr. TLC. It kept its promise—a move from history to healing. I experienced it as life-changing.

An energetic and unforgettable journey of experiencing the beauty and history of Ghana. with a focus on cultural and historical factors. Through some of the places we visited, our warm and knowledgeable leaders guided us in understand more deeply the traumatic impact of enslavement on both the enslaved and enslavers, and how this knowledge informs a deeper personal commitment to anti-racist action. Our hotels were comfortable, with two being in beautiful surroundings.
